Banshee - Season Premiere - "Little Fish" - 1/10/14

In the aftermath of their bloody shootout with Rabbit (Ben Cross), Lucas (Antony Starr), Carrie (Ivana Milicevic) and the Banshee Sheriff's Department (BSD) are interrogated by FBI special agent Jim Racine (Zeljko Ivanek), who metes out punishment that may, or may not, fit the crimes. Meanwhile, Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen) sets his sights on persuading Rebecca (Lili Simmons) to return to his care. As Gordon (Rus Blackwell) stews over his wife's betrayal, Deva (Ryann Shane) shows off her resourcefulness after being caught shoplifting in a mall. Later, a straightforward armored-truck robbery turns into a dangerous high-speed chase involving a mysterious motorcycle pursuer.
10 episode second season.

This is the only show I'm excited about this year. Can't wait.

Honestly... when I first started watching it... I thought the premise was absurd and dumb... This story could've been a DTV action movie and would've been a piece of shit. But with the 10 episodes to develop it all I really started to love it and buy in. The action is also incredibly well done. If anyone isn't watching, please start.

It's tough convincing people it's worth it to subscribe to Cinemax for this and Strike Back. That's why I assume those shows aren't more popular. They are really starting to make a name in scripted programs now.

I'm psyched for season 2. They have a few good guest stars and I'm looking forward to seeing how this flesh out Hood's storyline.

God, how I despise & loathe Twitter. So now we have to watch this with a #BANSHEE bright yellow logo in the bottom corner the whole time? What network is this, TNT? Stop. delete. Too bad, I was really looking forward to this premiere tonight but all I can see is #BANSHEE. Screw you Cinemax & Twitter.

Hopefully this is just a one time thing for the premiere. Otherwise I'll just cancel my subscription & wait until next year for the Blu Rays to watch it without having to peer through text.

I'm with you. I don't care if it's a free preview weekend...it just shows me they will devalue their service. I'm strongly against ANY kind of screen clutter from a major premium channel such as Cinemax AT ANY TIME during its programming. When you pay for a premium channel...you want the premium experience...and showing any kind of screen clutter kills that and makes you feel like you are watching a regular cable channel! If it's not part of the movie, I don't want to see it.

It wasn't too long before I just turned the premiere off. I will wait until an airing on one of its other theme channels...hopefully it'll be 100% clean.

But not even an effort to make it less annoying...like just having horizontal text and making it transparent.

the premise IS absurd and dumb and it is completely unbelievable and unrealistic, but the show embraces it so well that it winds up being really enjoyable

Re: Banshee - Season Premiere - "Little Fish" - 1/10/14

Thought it was good, not great. Most of the episode was quite slow to be perfectly honest. More of a setup episode and to show the fallout from last season's finale. Job was pretty funny as usual and had a lot of funny one-liners.

To getting a lot of Odette Annable in the episode. She looked good in that leather and sporting the machine gun.

to not seeing her body during the sex scene with Hood.

at Rebecca walking around in the lingerie with her ass cheeks busting out. Holy shit. More Rebecca in lingerie pleeease!

The heist scene was pretty cool. Did anyone watch the Making Of Banshee that aired shortly afterwards? They showed how they put together that scene.

at the bonus post credits scene with Zeljko Ivanek. I love how really random those are and most of the time they don't really add anything.

More of the Procter/Rebecca vibe this episode.

To those first 3.

I though the heist scene was a flashback at first.

Decent episode. Way too much recap, but it did drive some things forward. Wondering how long before Hood nails the deputy.

I though the Hopewell husband was leaving town at the end of last season.

Yeah, blatantly obvious considering all the other nudity in the show.

Yeah, I thought the heist was a flashback as well, but then I also remembered they were talking about hitting the casino trucks back last year. Cool heist.

Yeah, cool heist scene (even if completely unrealistic in typical Banshee fashion). Slow start to the episode, but ended up being alright. Looking forward to more Rebecca and the casino woman this season.

Spoiler:
It's supposed to happen this year, and there is supposedly a revealing Siobhan "fantasy" sequence early in episode 2

I got a screen-burn on my plasma from that bright #Banshee being in corner of the screen for the entire hour.

It went away, but still, what were they thinking? Couldn't they at least make it opaque or less bright?

It's funny. I read the comments about the hashtag on the show from here, but I didn't notice it at all.

For anyone as bothered by the screen bug as me, the on demand version showed up this morning. And it's bug free so far.

I noticed it for a minute and then forgot about it. I think some people are just too damn sensitive.
