I amended my list and put Southland in instead of Homeland.

Homeland would fall to #14 now.

Even though Southland ended somewhat incomplete, it's 10 episodes from the final season was much more superior in quality to Homeland's rocky 3rd season. Although Homeland had a strong 2nd half.

I am not seeing Rectify on enough lists. Hardly anyone gets the Sundance Channel but Rectify was easily one of the best and most thoughtful dramas I saw in 2013. Seek it out, it's only a 6-episode series that tells a complete story. Superb acting from the leads in it.

Many of the critics loved Rectify, I think you are right though, many either do not have Sundance, or if they do, didn't know about these new series. I wonder also if many people have Sundance, and just never thought to check out the channel.

Hopefully with all of these 'best of' lists talking about Sundance, and this very own thread, people will start checking them out (I plan too soon, and with Sundance getting a HD channel, hooray!)

Also keep those top 13 best tv show lists coming, I'll give it a few more days to let people catch up (I know many used the December break to catch up on shows piling up on DVR)

Rectify is solid. But is simultaneously the most boring and enthralling thing i've seen over the past year so I know it will polarize many audiences.
