Really enjoyed 10 Cloverfield Lane so looking forward to see what Dan Trachtenberg can do with Black Mirror.

So after reading some of the praise on this series, I decided to watch the 1st episode of season 1 a couple nights ago on Netflix.
Wow, holy crap this show is demented. I mean Jesus, you open your series with an episode that features beastiality. Not sure how I feel about it, but it was a very uncomfortable episode to watch.

Not so crazy when it was written before this happened: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piggate
Watch at least up to Episode 3. That one is so incredible.
Just started Season 3. Great start.

After hearing so much about this show, I finally started watching ...
Season 1
The National Anthem -- I liked the concept. It was a well-told story but I found a few of the contrivances took away from it (not checking the finger, the overall ending). I was convinced his advisors were in on it.
15 Million Merits -- I appreciate the commentary on reality TV and "stardom" but I just did not get this one at all. No emotional "in" for me.
The Entire History of You -- A bit predictable, but I really liked this one! The whole notion of playing back memories during a fight with a loved one is just fucking creepy.
Season 2
Be Right Back -- Another successful play on my emotions. Haley Atwell was fantastic!
That's all the further I've made it so far.

I'm a bit behind the times, and only just started the show, making it three episodes. Having read nothing but "awesome show" and how topical it is regarding technology, I was not expecting what the first episode gave me. My wife and I immediately watched the second episode with the bicycling, and realized this wasn't a show we were going to binge. Too heavy and somewhat depressing.
Good stuff. It's nice to have a thought-provoking show that we have to take our time working through. I'm glad Netflix picked it up and is having more episodes created.

Watched the the very first episode about the Prime Minister last night. All kinds of fucked up. With all the comparisons to the Twilight Zone, I was expecting a twist though. Also, being where we are now politically (even though I know this is a few years old) I was kind of expecting a "fake news" twist, where the kidnap was all fabricated to try and bring this guy down. Or setup by a rival candidate or something. The ending was kinda lacking for the emotional ride the previous 45 minutes gave the viewer. Still very different.
I can tell this wont be a show to marathon. I had to put on lighter fare to clear the head before bed.

The first episode doesn’t fit with the rest of the series, in terms of content or tone. I can’t imagine how many people stopped watching there.

Yeah, the first episode is very low tech compared to the rest of the series. But also the most current day.

It is one of the most relevant and topical, though.

I just have to say this — the one where the guy fucked a pig is one of the most compelling hours of tekevision I’ve ever seen.

Whenever I recommend this to people, I always urge them to skip that episode. It does not leave a good first impression.

It’s a great impression. In fact it’s almost too good. The show is pretty damn good, but it never tops that first episode.

When I started watching my friend also recommended to skip the first episode. It just made me want to watch it more

I did catch the first episode of season 2 when it was released, the one with the social media ran world, and I could not finish it until I started the season from the beginning about 3 months later.

That sounds more like the season 3 opener, "Nosedive". Seasons 1 & 2 only had 3 episodes each, and were released on Netflix together, so they may have seemed like a single season if one wasn't paying close attention to the numbering. There was also the Christmas Special between seasons 2 & 3 with Jon Hamm.
