Re: Family Guy -- "Brian Griffin's House of Payne" -- 03/28/10
Watching this was like dealing with a long-time close friend betraying you to your face or a loved one dying in your arms. I've been watching FG for years (Was a HUGE fan, had every DVD and was excited about new episodes), but in recent months, it's been going from kind of bad (I just watched and said "It's going to rebound, I just know it!") to completely bad (Stewie's head with the brain exposed for me was the last straw), and it's just been plain sad.

(Of course, I could be wrong)

I would tend to agree, but Stewie/Family Guy have referenced the Shatner version before:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UXuSWUXDnuo&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UXuSWUXDnuo&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UXuSWUXDnuo&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UXuSWUXDnuo&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
But that Stewie doesn't do a Shatner impression at all in the current episode makes me think it's just a reference to the lyrics in Elton John's well-known song and not to the less-well-known Shatner "interpretation" of the same song.

What a creepy episode. I didn't care for it. The Stewie thing made me a bit sick to my stomach.

Peter & Brian on meth were the only parts I found funny. This and The Cleveland Show are an hour I'll never get back.

Felt very wasted tonight. With the lackluster eps and South Park's resurgence, this is starting to feel very unnecessary.

It was my understanding that Stan and Francine Smith were suppose to guest star as well as Mike Judge as Hank Hill. Huh.

The episode was a dog's breakfast in terms of plot and structure, even more than a regular FG episode. That said, this line brought tears to my eyes:

Wonder if this is the one that has Rush Limbaugh and Karl Rove have a cameo. I'm also waiting for that episode on abortion as well but I guess that is coming out on DVD.

Wow, this episode is really getting nasty. First Brian eating poop, then licking Stewies ass, then eating Stewie's vomit and now the ear piercing crap.

It actually got pretty deep for a Family Guy show at the very end. I'm not thrilled about this song and dance crap they have on now.
The best part was a split second when Brian admitted voting for McCain.
