It looks like you can fit about 53 stars without the difference being immediately noticeable:

The draft version of 54 & 55 stars arrange the stars in a noticeably different way. I don't know if this was just for a change of pace, or if it's impossible to arrange them more like the current offset grid method.

The map things are sort of neat. What gets old real fucking fast are the analogies to family members and then some corny chastisement...making it up but they go like

"[Something outrageous in the real world.] That's like Uncle Jimmy asking for a gallon of peanut butter so he can paint his ceiling. No Uncle Jimmy! Not again. Peanut Butter is meant for chewing not for home improvement."

Yeah, he does that too much, and it's gotten lame. I think it's an easy joke and they come at a time during the segment when they realize there hasn't been a joke in a while, and the squeeze it in for an easy laugh. It's the show's one weakness.

Just a comedy bit, sure, but if you have an occupation that is even remotely science-based, you WILL use math (more than arithmetic). I've worked in audio, which is always plotted on logarithmic scales, so yes John Oliver, I DO use logarithms!

This is a topic I disagree with John Oliver on. Even though the media calls it a "European" migrant crisis, it's really a "Middle Eastern" migrant crisis.

I don't think any European country has an obligation to take in refugees from the Middle East, or from anywhere else in the world. If they want to, fine. And if they don't want to, also fine. There shouldn't be a presumption that European countries must take in refugees and it's somehow disgraceful for them not to (which is essentially what John Oliver is implying in this).

The point wasn't "OMG his family changed their name," but rather that Donald has so sucessfully promoted the TRUMP brand over the past few decades that people automatically associate the name with attributes like "quality" without thinking critically about him as a person or candidate.

By calling him Drumpf, you remove the power of his (estimated $3B value) brand and hopefully get people thinking more about whether he's actually a good candidate for president.

Plus, it's likely to piss him off.
