South Park - "Black Friday" - 11/13/13
Anticipation for the biggest shopping day of the year is building. The dark days of winter are coming and that can only mean one thing: the fight to be the first in the mall on Black Friday has begun. The boys prepare to battle the crowds the day after Thanksgiving to get the best deal on the new gaming systems.
Gotta say I really enjoyed this one. Combining Game of Thrones with the Xbone/PS4 war is kind of brilliant. I also liked that even though Cartman wasn't acting racist/anti-Semitic and they were on the same team, he was still after Kyle. And Randy is always great.
Can't wait for the second part.

The best one of the season for me so far. Curious if they're just doing two or if this will be a 3-episode arc like Imaginationland and Coon 2, which would have part 3 airing two days before Black Friday.

I haven't watched it yet, but from the looks of the characters, I'm wondering if this was supposed to tie into the Stick of Truth game that was supposed to be out in a month, but got delayed.

I agree. I enjoyed this one more than any other this season by a large margin. I'm interested to see where they go with the story next week.

They also wore those costumes in "The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers" from 2002. I'm guessing those are just their default costumes for anything 'fantasy' themed.

Loved this ep. Only fault I really found was that most "Black Friday" stuff now starts on Thanksgiving night or earlier. Of course that could be a twist for next week.
I was reminded of something due to the outfits: when is the South Park video game that's been spoken of for about two years going to hit shelves?

Overall good episode, but the "Game of Thrones" stuff sort of fell flat. It barely referenced the show at all; just a couple of nods here and there.
And, unless, something has changed in the past few years, the shopping malls are usually empty on Black Friday. All of the shoppers pack places like Best Buy, Kohls, Target, and Wal-Mart and skip the malls. Though having the Night's Watch being mall security guards is sort of funny.

- All the "Winter is coming" stuff
- Cartman and Kenny walking through the garden
- The Sony exec doggie styling a chick
- Night's Watch at the mall
- Cartman and Stan each trying to build their alliances
- All the direct mentions of the show by Cartman and Butters
I think too much more and it would've turned into a total parody episode of GOT which wasn't what they were going for.

Very good episode and I know nothing of GoT except that it's something (fantasy) that I wouldn't like and that there's a lot of nudity (from a previous Sheep game).....apparently it's all wieners, so I'm definitely not missing anything.
The console war is funny. I asked my sister a few days ago if my nephew wants a PS4 for X-mas. She said no because it's not reverse-compatible with PS3 games (which he has a lot of). I thought that was nuts.

It's got to be with the way it just ended like it did.
For all the grief they sometimes get about South Park having lower quality in some episodes.. When they are on, they are really f'ing on. This is probably one of my top episodes of the entire series thus far.

I certainly hope it's a two-parter. I'm ready for more of Night's Watch Randy.
You know nothing Randy Marsh.

Well they obviously were ripping on themselves when they talked about how pre-orders were a ripoff and a ridiculous thing to do. (they were taking pre-orders for the Stick Of Truth almost 2 years ago!!!)
