"F.Z.Z.T." was written by Paul Zbyszewski and directed by Vincent Misiano.

Episode 6 of 22

It was casually mentioned in the last thread, but FYI a November sweeps episode, which is later this month, will be a continuation of the Thor: The Dark World storyline. So be warned about potential spoilers if you won't see the movie right away.

I thought tonight's episode was pretty good. Some good character development for Fitz and Simmons, an enjoyable plot (the dive was utterly predictable but well executed, IMO), and some more hints about Coulson.

Didn't like this episode. I don't like FitzSimmons, and this episode was very FitzSimmons centric. I think I was hoping for more superheroes/villains with this series. Instead, it's more about the team investigating weird events each week. I'm quickly losing my enthusiasm, but I may stick with it out of curiosity.

This is the first time I liked the two scientists. I thought they carried the episode well. I liked that there wasn't a enemy this time around. Without a villain there was more time to get to know the characters.

This is the best episode so far for me.

Yup, best episode by far thus far.

I've hated almost every episode leading up to this, but stuck around because I'm a loser.

That Iron Man joke was so lame and forced.

I think it was supposed to be. They in an uncomfortable conversation where Coulson was trying to avoid the truth so he made a lame joke.

Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D -- "FZZT" -- 11/05/13

I like it. It was a good episode. The show has found it's footing, and now it's just a matter of further developing the characters.

They couldn't have done this story right out of the box since you needed to know the characters in order to care at all. The show, as I suspected after the pilot, has gotten much better. It was forced in the creation stage (it wasn't created organically - Marvel and ABC wanted an Avengers spin off and they wanted it for this season so they had to make it happen by a deadline). After the pilot each week showed some growth. It's a good show now, and could get even better over the next half season.

This episode helped those two characters quite a bit, now people can care if they wish to.

I liked the episode also. No real villain (other than the virus thingy) but it was still a fun watch.

Up until this episode, I thought FitzSimmons were brother and sister. Guess I wasn't paying that much attention to them before this. This episode felt pretty creepy until I realized that they weren't siblings.

Other than that snafu, I thought it was a very good episode.

Could Coulson end up becoming

The Vision
with all those "throwaway" lines?

What you described is pretty much the concept of the series. None of the advanced press really mentioned that it was going to be Avengers like as much as X-Files. In short, if you want superhero stuff best to leave now, as it will only be sporadic at best (read: sweeps or when a movie is about to hit screens).

If it makes you feel better, they made it pretty clear that Simmons thinks of Fitz like a brother.

Yeah, I enjoyed this one. The banter is gradually getting more natural and believable, unlike the early episodes where it felt like they were trying to force the humor as a shortcut to character-building.

Wait, I thought they made it clear in this episode that she has some romantic interest in him. He realized it himself when he was talking about how they had always worked in the same place together and it dawned on him that it wasn't by chance.

Just wait until Avengers: Age of Ultron, when they introduce these two:

There is no way a woman that looks like Skye would be into all of the geeky stuff she is and then look the way she does.

Women in sci-fi must all be walking male fantasies. It's apparently an unwritten rule.

I agree that this ep. was a step in the right direction. I also like that Coulson is aware that he wasn't just in some coma for a while . I am curious as to how they will explain it. I just don't see him becoming
Spoiler:
Vision.

I've noticed that in the promos for each next week's ep. they make a request to "watch it live." Since when has this become relevant since DVR gets counted in ratings?
