The Michael J. Fox Show (NBC) The rest of Season 1 Thread

The weekly threads don't get enough attention. 1 for the rest of the season will do.

10/31/2013 (09:30PM - 10:00PM) (Thursday) : Mike (Michael J. Fox) and Annie (Betsy Brandt) try to have a romantic weekend away at a charity golf tournament that Mike is playing in. While they're gone, Ian (Conor Romero) and Eve (Juliette Goglia) rent out the apartment to make some extra cash. After Leigh's (Katie Finneran) date cancels on her, she has a "date night" with Graham (Jack Gore). TV-PG D

It had a full season order and has ratings on par with Parks and Rec.

It got a guaranteed 22 episode order before the Pilot was shot.

Judging by the few are who are still watching, sounds like Fox's condition is making this a tough watch for a lot of you.

Tried to watch tonite's ep...

I'm waiting for Louis Canning to hike back over to CBS and butt heads with Lockhart/Gardner or the newly formed Florrick/Agos.

From what I saw his condition wasn't the problem...it was how extremely unfunny everything was.

NBC will likely not bury it on Sat night then but I suppose the question is if they'll renew it for next season.

It would look bad to cancel ALL the freshmen comedies...but the ratings look equally bad.

Speaking for myself, his Parkinsons does not detract from my enjoyment. It is the shitty supporting cast (excluding Brandt) and weak scripts.

I haven't watched this one, but yes, his condition makes watching him act rough. I remember being very uncomfortable when he was on Scrubs. Am I a monster?

Maybe if they believe in Fox they might reboot or tweak the show if they bring it back for season 2?

The golf episode was not bad and it was funny when Michael joked this is not the 30's and jazz musicians are not celebrities anymore.

I actually think this has some pretty sharp writing for a show of this style - the god awful aunt needs to go but overall, it's a decent half hour. Not laugh out loud funny but enjoyable.

What Fox should do is go off his meds for the rest of the season. That should liven up the joint.

I still remember the daughter playing God on "Joan of Arcadia" about 5-6 years ago.

Good point...and iirc some of those shows were better/funnier than any of the ones this season IMO.

Last nights episode was decent with Fox and his son getting stuck in the woods.

Yes. I loved the "I think we just changed the future" line. I think Mike's boss is the best character on this show but maybe he works best in small doses.

They are bringing out the big guest stars like Candice Bergen and Charles Grodin and guess who shows up in the Spring.

Michael J. Fox is going back to the future on an upcoming episode his NBC sitcom The Michael J. Fox Show. Christopher Lloyd, who played Dr. Emmett Brown opposite Fox's Marty McFly in Back to the Future and its two sequels, will guest-star in an episode next spring according to The Hollywood Reporter. This time around, Lloyd will appear as the principal of the high school where Annie Henry (Betsy Brandt), the wife of Fox's character Mike Henry, is employed
