I think both this and last week's eps were great.
Favorite part was the Power Ranger stuff with Robin.

Yeah they dragged this episode out. Kind of tired of the whole dressing up, trying to do a mission type thing. Luckily mother comes next week.

I was dying with Barney's lines. The one about Die Hard, the one about the hooker, strip dance, and the sweat pants. I even laughed at and with Ted.
Awesome episode.

I liked this episode too. The opening with them poking fun at those ghost story shows was funny because those shows are my guilty pleasure.
The 'no questions asked' was a good concept and pretty funny too.
I just don't like this whole Lily and Marshall story. It seems to be a typical sitcom thing. I know Friends did something similar. The issue I have is that parents should do what they think is best for their kid and I have yet to see either of them mention what would be best for Marvin. Marshall being a judge trumps Lily going on a year long job in Rome.

The "no questions asked" concept was clever, but I didn't think it'd take up the whole episode. The other storyline was just Robin/Barney needing to work as a team - and that took only a minute or two.
I don't like Marshall being in transit for so long, even though it's accurate in the timeline of the season spanning only a weekend. I'm already getting tired of the being in this strange setting for so long. It feels like I'm watching an episode of a sitcom where the characters go on vacation, except that this vacation is taking up the whole season.

I too found it clever and a good concept but lacked anything really funny. Barney shit his pants? Bwahahah... uh, no. That's the best the writers could come up with? Lily stomps on her phone? That's not gonna break it. The whole plan by Barney & Robin was just too over the top stupid for words.
Same with the ghost story thing. Decent enough concept that provided little in the laugh department. Guy gets his hook stuck and freezes to death? Is that supposed to be clever or funny because it wasn't really either.
It's like the writers aren't even trying anymore and it's becoming very clear that setting the entire season at this lodge was a terrible idea.

PREPARE TO BE TERRIFIED
....according to Deadline CBS is aggresively pursuing a spin off...How I Met Your Father...complete with characters to be introduced in the series finale of HIMYM. Yikes.

Not surprising, HIMYM was a CBS bubble show for years, and now it's their second highest rated (18 - 49) comedy behind The Big Bang Theory, and one of their overall highest rated shows in the demo.
This season for them has consisted of Mom, 2 Broke Girls, Revolving Door 8:30 PM on Monday Show, and Two and a Half Men all dropping substantially - with an expectation of the same from Mike and Molly.

All new characters, or is this the Mother's side of the story of how she and Ted hooked up?

Hope that goes on for 10 years so they'd all be 50 by the finale.
