I really dig this show as well. It's a lot of fun...plausible? Nah. Fun? Yep.
At the very least, I hope CBS let's it ride out the entire 13 episodes.

To me the only thing interesting about this is what McDermott's character motivation is....it can't just be to get his wife (uber expensive) illegal medicine/treatment.

It would be a cool twist if the "cancer" is really just how they are holding his wife hostage. He succeeds in killing the President, and they take away whatever is making her sick.

The only problem is that you knew the plan was destined to fail. The only plan that would work is the one will develop an episode or two before the finale.

The camera needs to be pulled back on some of these close-ups - Miss Collette is slowly morphing into Tom Petty.
The flashback yippee I get to operate on the Prez scenes were corny bad. I didn't care if they were put there to contrast the family's present dire situation but much of it came off as filler.
Despite its flaws, I am also sucked into this serial every week.

I'm up to this episode now
this show isn't good but it's not bad enough to completely eject from yet
this would have been better as a 3-4 episode miniseries
this dragging it out of them trying to live a normal life for 2 weeks is ridiculous
