Not surprising. At least Punisher had an ending that wasn't a big tease for a season that will never come. It just showed him doing what he does. Daredevil season 3 could have ended perfectly right before the Bullseye surgery tease. Iron Fist had a massive tease for an interesting story line. I haven't seen Luke Cage to completion, so I can't comment there.

The thinly veiled "these will be back." Comments from Marvel's side are growing tedious. Either announce something or don't.

They can’t announce anything for two years.

re: Marvel / Netflix projects discussion thread - news, rumors, etc.
Why did Netflix do this? Because Disney, who owns Marvel Entertainment outright, wants to take as much of the production of its properties in-house. I wouldn't be surprised if those canceled Netflix Marvel shows come back either on Hulu (which Disney has a majority ownership stake) or the new Disney+ streaming service that will start late in 2019. There's a reason why Disney bought a large fraction of 20th Century Fox, also done as a means to take the Deadpool and X-Men properties in-house.

It won’t be on Disney+ unless they change their stance on not airing any R rated movie or show. That’s why the Hulu deal makes sense.

Yes, they can’t use them. They can “plan” something in theory sure, but what’s there to announce? It’s not like anyone is in a holding contract for two years. Marvel Studios could decide they want to poach from the TV division and would rather use some of the characters in movies and recast.
I don’t doubt that these come back, but there’s nothing to say now.

Interesting about the lawyers warning. It really seems bitter between Disney and Netflix, obviously.
https://www.indiewire.com/2019/04/di...202127577/amp/
According to a production executive, Disney has been warned by lawyers not to even think about developing new content featuring the characters of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher until the two-year mark. The clarification is an important one, as it means Disney probably won’t be spending time during the next two years working on new material with these characters to launch new series in 2020. If Disney can’t even begin developing a new Daredevil series until 2020, then it’s going to take much longer than just two years for the character to return to the big or small screen. Another option is Disney does not revive the superheroes at all.

It ain’t like Disney doesn’t already have enough toys to play with.
They can sit on Daredvil and the Punisher for a couple of years.

Well, at least we're getting one more season of JJ - hope it's better than it's 2nd season.

Honestly, the quality of each season of every show has dropped significantly since the Hell's Kitchen MCU was introduced. I just waited a whole year for a sequel to Infinity War. Two to three years will be nothing for a group of shows I haven't really enjoyed since Daredevil Season 1. Even then, I'd much rather them just use these shows as a base and start dropping the characters into the main universe down the line. I'm more disappointed that X-Men and Fantastic Four don't seem to be in any plans for at least 5 years.

Earth-shattering news for Marvel fans today with the news that all of The Defenders series are set to leave Netflix on March 1st, 2022.
As of February 11th, 2022 every single season of Netflix’s Defenders franchise is showing removal notices in select circumstances. The removal notices only appear to show when you first watch a show on a profile. Removal dates are not showing on the title card or available on mobile devices.
We have reached out to Netflix and Disney for an official comment on the removal status of the listed titles.
Titles showing removal dates include:
Daredevil (Seasons 1-3)
Jessica Jones (Seasons 1-3)
Luke Cage (Seasons 1-2)
Iron Fist (Seasons 1-2)
The Defenders (Limited Series)
The Punisher (Seasons 1-2)
The removal of this content represents over 160 episodes across a four-year span of releases. Daredevil season 1 first premiered on Netflix in April 2015.
By February 2019, every single show from Marvel onto Netflix was canceled with Jessica Jones season 3 being the final title to come from the partnership in June 2019.

WTF? That’s very odd. I hope they’re moving to Hulu, but that would mean commercials for me.

Never got around to the final seasons of any of them. Doubt I'll get to it before March 1st. Daredevil being the one I'm most inclined to finish, wherever it ends up.

Not too odd. Netflix doesn't own the shows.
Sources confirm to Deadline that Netflix’s license for Marvel’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher, Iron Fist and The Defenders team-up limited series is ending and the rights to the shows is reverting to Disney. The company is keeping mum about its distribution plans for the suite of series; they are expected to be announced the shows’ new streaming home soon.

Disney has announced that all of the Marvel “Netflix” Original series including “The Defenders” will be coming to Disney+ in Canada on Wednesday, March 16th 2022.
“The Defenders” will be leaving Netflix on February 28th 2022. So it’s only a short wait until it arrives elsewhere.
All of the other former Netflix Original Marvel Series will arrive on Disney+ the same day.
It’s also currently unclear what will be happening in the United States, if the series will be added to Hulu or Disney+.
