S.H.I.E.L.D. will not revolutionize TV (and other series you were disappointed with)?
so, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will not "revolutionize" a television experience.
frankly, i think it is generic and just plain crappy.
i'm not talking about just recently aired stuff, but in the course of your viewing experiences in life...
what other series were you disappointed with after thinking they were going to at least be good?

LWS was another for me as well. really was looking forward to it given AMC's track record. i don't think i even made it through the first ep.

The Super Mario Bros Super Show was promoted by Nintendo Power magazine as being revolutionary and "unlike anything you've seen before," but it was just cheap crap. (They said the animation would be really really good, and the live-action stuff would have no expense spared but it was just cheap videotaped crap with dumb actors.) I quickly learned to seriously question marketing hype after that.

Two Broke Girls. I thought it might have been really good as I like Kat and thought it was going to be a really good comedy show. Yup, couldn't finish past the first two episodes.

Maybe not revolutionize but I'm sure quite a few had high hopes for the Michael J Fox Show. I enjoyed it but reading through the threads here, I'm probably the only one.

I know I'm in the minority but I was severely disappointed with Broadchurch. I couldn't get past Episode Three before dropping the show.

A couple of people at work loved the pilot for the new series "The Blacklist", but I didn't think it was anything special.
Edit: rewatched the pilot ep to give it another chance. Better than I remember, I was perhaps distracted and not paying attention. A decent show, will watch a couple of more episodes.

BBT is the same old tired sitcom bullshit. Thinly drawn caricatures, setting up forced jokes and put-downs, coupled with timing things for audience laughter and you have a show that thinks it's funny by checking off things on a list, rather than actually being funny. It's really not too different than Two and a Half Men, it's just geared at a different audience, but it's no less stupid.
