@BryanCranston
The opening lyrics to Bad Finger's song at the show's end is Walt's prophecy, "I guess I got what I deserve...my baby blue"

Yes, it's fitting that Walt's death was caused by his own bullet since Walt's been responsible for many other deaths and ruined lives (directly or indirectly).

The thing I have to wonder is, had Walt not taken the bullet and with everything else being the same... what would have happened to him?

Would Jesse have shot him? Because it looked like Walt's wound was at least part of the reason Jesse dropped the gun. Would Walt have off'd himself? Would he just get arrested and wait for the cancer to finish him off?

The writing isn't that strong with the characters doing dumb things that make little sense in the situations they're in. This isn't anywhere near the quality level of writing as Breaking Bad or Mad Men.
To each his own, Walking Dead is still AMC #1 show and Breaking Bad never pulled in those kind of ratings. The seasons certainly run slower paced than Breaking Bad, but hardly shallow and boring as Slop suggested.

While I enjoyed every episode of Breaking Bad, it did have some episodes that dragged like Walt's cancer intervention or rehearsing the gambling story with Skylar. As for Mad Men, I couldn't get past the first episode. Bored the hell out of me.

Wasn't Walt's ultimate plan to go to the Nazis compound where he assumed Jesses was in cahoots and take everyone out, including himself? The only reason he ended up on the ground was a last minute urge to save Jesse now that he is aware Jesse was a slave. Walt never actually expected to leave the compound, did he? He wasn't interested in the money or anything.

Yeah I don't get this complaint either. It seems like people complaining about this wanted one final OMG moment or something but honestly it wasn't really needed. The finale did what it needed to do which is provide closure to the story that Gilligan and company were telling. There wasn't a need for something to be thrown in at the last minute just to give fans another moment. The show gave us plenty of those throughout it's run and last night's episode was about finality.

In the post show, they said Jesse, in an earlier episode, told Walt that he would never, ever do anything Walt told him to do again. That's why Jesse insisted Walt tell him to kill him - because he didn't want to do it.

Correct. He was planning on either dying there or getting arrested. He had no intention of making it out of the Nazi compound alive.

The people that completely dismiss Breaking Bad because they think that nothing is better than The Walking Dead are those that I shake my head at. I have had this discussion more than once with people over the past few weeks. Also, I don't tend to look at ratings as a sole determining factor on whether or not a show is good. Nobody is saying that The Walking Dead is not a good show. However, the whole zombie genre is a bit played out if you ask me.

I am.

I think it's a tediously drawn-out show with nothing to say besides "humans are monsters too". Yawn. I didn't care for the comics either - Kirkman is one of the most over-rated writers ever. Being about zombies seems to make a lot of people give it a pass or overlook it's flaws.

This is true, and I think it has a lot to do with Walking Dead being a show where not a lot of thinking is required - hence why it pulls in bigger numbers. The average TV viewers aren't what I would call discerning - hence why all this reality TV crap does incredible numbers (not that I'm comparing WD to reality TV level of quality).

The Walking Dead is all over the place (although the comic is consistently excellent, IMO). Breaking Bad only ever had one bad plotline, Marie's kleptomania. And the only time I ever care about ratings is if it leads to a show I like being canceled or renewed.

I do not buy VG's explanation that it was just a happy accident. I think he was joking, especially after Gunn's description of how anal he was in setting up that very scene.

I thought Jesse was really out of character for a while as well.

Marie is the character I most wanted to die, but I guess she lost enough.

I'm not arguing that Walking Dead is better than Breaking Bad. The original argument was that all other tv shows suck by comparison.

The point about ratings is it wouldn't have such a huge fan base if the show was complete crap. And I'm sure come Oct. 13, plenty of people on here are going to be excited for the new season.

Really? You're using the # of viewers as a barometer of quality?

Using that reasoning, NCIS and Two & a Half Men are even better shows since they get even better ratings, and sustained over a much longer period of time as well.

There's lots of crap that gets huge numbers, and there's a lot of great shows that have very few viewers.

Okay, actually it occurs during Walt's "5 minutes" with Skylar. Thx.
