Is this show still doing cliffhangers for season finales?

Deftones 05-18-11 07:30 PM

Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Finale -- "Supply and Demand" -- 5/18/11

Yeah, but I read this cliffhanger isn't traditional in the sense that someone doesn't die or put in peril. If I had to guess, and this is based on clues being dropped throughout the season, the team is going to be broken up.

If they bring back Paget, I wonder if that means Rachel Nichols will be canned. I don't think they would have enough screentime to have Hotch, Reid, Prentiss, JJ, Morgan, Seaver, Rossi and then Garcia in 1 episode. The team would be too big. Since Prentiss is presumed dead, I could see them slowly bringing her back.

Get rid of her. She's horrible on the show.

Seaver is gone. I'm pretty sure I heard that. Besides, Nichols looks so much like AJ Cook that you really can't have both of them on the same show.

I was kind of disappointed by the way they worked JJ into the show. I would have rather had her be part of the case and then decide to stay at the end (or leave her "decision" up in the air).

 Paget Brewster (Prentiss) is offically back on the show next season.

They are negotiating a new contract for Thomas Gibson.

Rachel Nichols (Seaver) was let go because of Brewster's return.

 Can't wait for next season. The show is back to normal.

Thank GOD.

I am glad the little experment in fixing what wasn't broken is over and we can get things back to normal. I like this cast together on the show so they all need to stay put.

Now Gibson just better sign that contract and we are set.

Thanks for posting, that makes me happy. :D

This is all great news - you rarely see a show fix what wasn't broken, then put it back together again.

They got rid of Elle and replaced her with Prentice which was a great move IMO. I didn't understand why they got rid of both JJ and Prentice but I am glad they are hopefully back. The team has great chemistry (I'm was not a fan of the last few episodes however).

While he left and wasn't fired, another great hire, which I wasn't sure of, was when Mandy Patinkin left and replaced by Joe Mantegna. A major upgrade IMO.

Thank god they are "fixing" this show back to what it was. I'm really interested in seeing how they bring Prentiss back into the mix.

However they do it, I don't care. As long as they don't let it linger beyond one or two episodes.

Lola (Elle) left the show, so they didn't get rid of her. I loved her on the show and wish she was still on. Never liked Prentiss, and I don't care for Brewster's acting, especially anytime she's threatening someone. Glad AJ Cook will be back though.

I believe CBS said they made the decision to let AJ Cook and Paget Brewster go was to help improve the show creatively being the show was starting it's 6th season, which was bullshit. It was 100% money. I think they underestimated the fan backlash against it and against the spinoff series, which was just cancelled. The show gets great ratings on Wednesday nights still.

It sucked for Rachel Nichols. She was brought into a bad situation being Cook's replacement and probably a cheaper one. She's a decent young actress, but fans already hated her character from the start. Same thing happened to her when she was hired as a series regular/lead for Alias' final season when Jennifer Garner was pregnant.

FYI, Thomas Gibson re-signed with the show tonight. 2 year deal. Everyone is officially back next season.

I wonder if maybe all this drama with AJ Cook and Paget Brewster was a temporary cost cutting move on the producers' part, and that they intended on bringing them both back all along. In any event, looking forward to next season - still a great show.

I doubt it. Paget even filmed a pilot for another show. You don't do something like that "temporarily" and risk your actors being unavailable to come back.

 Great to have the old team back. Can't wait until September.

 Thomas Gibson looks good with the scruff.

Wow, an unkempt Gibson. I never watched Dharma & Greg so that look is really strange on Hotch.

Seeing them all together makes me happy. Thanks for posting that.

Gibson should keep the scruff. I like it.

For a second, I thought Conan O'Brien was guest starring, but it was just Matthew Gray Gubler. :D

I wonder how they integrate Emily back into the unit/storyline. Maybe Derek wakes up to find her in the shower and it was all a dream.

It was unbelievable how badly CBS handled the whole thing last year. Granted the Doyle plot was pretty good. I'm glad they realized they fucked up before it was too late.
