My favorite part of this episode was how the ****wads at NBC gave away the entire thing all week. They showed us Gross' confession over and over and OVER and OVER all week, and then it's the "revelation" at the end of the episode. And people wonder why I hate watching promos.

Gross was great as always.

Law & Order SVU 12/6

Whoa! Major cringe factor episode last night!

This had to be one of the creepiest shows (of ANY show) I've seen on TV in a long time.

The more this "family" and father started to unravel, the more creepy and bizarre the whole thing got.

I'm almost surprised this got totally passed the censors.

For those that saw this, you know what I'm talking about.
For those that missed it, I wouldn't know where to begin.

I agree 1000% ans this was no Addam's Family creepy either. That father swore he did nothing wrong! SICK SICK SICK! I hope this story wasn't really ripped from the headlines somewhere.

The problem is that a lot of people who do things like that say they did nothing wrong because they honestly beleive it. Sick, sick, sick.

Good episode though.

Agree, good episode but very sick. Sometimes when I watch this show I wonder where in the world the writers come up with this stuff.

Interesting episode. Kind of sick if it happened in real life, though.

They should have left him in whatever off off off off off off off Broadway production he was failing in. Some people just never learn.
Good SVU episode though.

Law & Order SVU 4/18

Now that is the L&O I know and love. The major league L&O hasn't had an episode like that in the last 2 seasons. It is a shame that I pretty much have to rely on SVU and Dragnet to find the classic elements of L&O that I used to see every single week during the late 90s.

Spoiler:
Alex was really good in this episode. I think this is the start of an arc that (what I assume) will result in her leaving the DA's office - since Stephanie March is leaving the show.

That was a pretty good episode. This is the only L&O I watch anymore. I didn't see the big twist coming at all.

I agree about Alex, she's going to have some issues after this.

the gang rape wasn't surprising considering they threw her/him/it into the male population

Good episode overall.

Spoiler:
didn't know Stephanie March was leaving the show. I can see how this episode will help nudge her out the door

The ADA is leaving the show? God damn it! She's one of the best reasons to watch this show.

Anyway, good show. Once they revealed that she was a "man" the more she did actually look like a man in the show. Good plot for a great show.

Spoiler:
December 17th 2002:

March Checks Out of 'SVU'
Tue, Dec 17, 2002 10:31 AM PDT

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - The "Special Victims Unit" will soon need a new prosecutor.

Stephanie March, who's in her third season as Assistant DA Alexandra Cabot on "Law & Order: SVU," is leaving the series at the end of this season. The actress says she'd like to pursue other opportunities.

"['L&O' creator] Dick Wolf was one of the best employers I've ever had," March tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I loved working on the show, and I will miss it very much. It's just time to move on."

"SVU," the first spinoff of "Law & Order," is in its fourth season on
NBC, where it consistently ranks in the Nielsen top 20. It follows a group of detectives who handle sex crimes and other difficult cases.

The show's casting agents are already searching for March's
replacement, but Wolf is leaving the door open for her to return.

"I wish her the best in all her future endeavors, and we hope we
haven't seen the last of her character," he says.

"Law & Order" is famous for its cast turnover; no actor has been with the series for its entire 13-season run. The cast of "SVU," however, has remained fairly stable thus far. Leads Christopher Meloni, Mariska Hargitay, Richard Belzer and Dann Florek have been with the show from the beginning.

March's other credits include "Death of a Salesman" on Broadway and the Chris Rock comedy "Head of State," due for release next spring.

Yeah - I always wished she had been 'promoted' to L&O instead of Elizabeth Rohm getting that gig.

At the risk of losing my head, I'll say that I think Rohm has been a LOT better this season than last.

Spoiler:
Cabot's a great character, and March is hot ... she will very much be missed.

Excellent episode. I watch every L&O every week but often don't pay close attention as it's the same tired stuff, but this was very engaging. It had all the elements of a classic episode including a closing kick in the gut. Good stuff.

I said about the same thing in another thread, especially the latter part of this season. But we're a distinct minority apparently.

Absolutely. It always takes some time to feel out the job. She's not Cabot, though.

Gotta say...this ep was a bit of a disappointment. Next week's looks good though..
