Revolution -- Season Premiere -- "Born in the U.S.A." -- 9/25/13

Synopsis:

IT'S A NEW WORLD FOR OUR HEROES, EVEN MORE DANGEROUS AND MYSTERIOUS THAN EVER - In last year's finale, our heroes made the treacherous journey to the Tower and were able to turn on the power, but at what cost? The effects of this move prove to be catastrophic for everyone. Now, Miles (Billy Burke), Aaron (Zak Orth) and Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) have found themselves in a mysterious small town, in the great nation of Texas where Rachel unexpectedly encounters an important figure from her past. Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) finds herself on a mission in the Plains Nation while Neville (Giancarlo Esposito) and Jason (JD Pardo) search a refugee camp for a lost loved one. Meanwhile, Monroe (David Lyons) has discovered a gritty role in his new environment. Also starring: Stephen Collins, Adam Beach, Jessica Collins, Nicole Ari Parker, Patrick Heusinger.

22 episode 2nd season

It's back!!!

Yeah Yeah, I know this was probably the most criticized and nit picked show last season in this forum. But, if you won't be watching season 2, I hope you will refrain from thread crapping and saying how you think the show sucks etc. etc. Adds nothing to the discussion. Watch something else that you like.

Anyone found it weird how Fatty McGoogle obviously lost a lot of weight between seasons only to gain it all back mid-conversation with his new girlfriend (moments before he saw the fireflies)?

Oh and not enough of Charlie in her underwear.

Can't wait !

I too enjoyed season 1. I know there were some things wrong with it at times, but for the most part I enjoyed it.
Would love to have Robert Hawkins show up !

I was pretty down on the first season but this really wasn't terrible.

Someone refresh my memory. What happened in the final episode? Who's dead?

Nora

Nukes went off and are set to destroy the East coast.

We also learn there is a POTUS in Gitmo.

WTF? Seriously? I swear the last thing I remember was them turning on the power.

Now that was revolutionary.

I would have quit if they killed off McGoogle.

I hope they do something about the power or the nano bots got messed up because there needs to be power at some point. And I was waiting for Mc Google (just going to use that name for now) to wake up the entire time as I figure something is going on to allow that to happen.

So it's like a reset and they are getting back to the swordfighting that made up most of the early episodes.

I would have preferred fat boy 'dying' choking on food.

Somehow the show has re-peaked my interest. I'm probably just setting myself up for disappointment but I hope not. Nice to see Kripke still find a way to bring the rock music.

Re: Revolution -- Season Premiere -- "Born in the U.S.A." -- 9/25/13

Yeah I also loved the classic rock acoustic music performances in the beginning..Love all three of those songs.

I'd read where Kripke admitted he fucked up the first season and they have new writers and are taking it a different direction. I wasn't going to watch s2 until I read that and gave it a shot, and I liked it. Seems like a slightly different show. The 'war tribes' or whatever they called it may give it a bit of a Mad Max feel instead of just a couple of large militias.

Once the nukes hit and that guy had killed himself, why did they feel that leaving the power off was a better solution? Wouldn't having power really help with all the people suffering in Philly and Atlanta?

There was a "sneeze and you miss it" throwaway line about how they didn't turn off the power again. It seems the nanobots did that on their own.

It must be a failsafe because at the end of last season the black scientist lady (the one Colm Feore had kidnapped) told Hot Mom that they could burn the whole world if they turned the power back on. Sure enough, last season ended with not just the nukes in the air but also with a huge lightning storm.

Thanks; I don't remember that at all. I assumed that McGoogle turned the power off after the nukes hit and they decided to leave it off. If that's the case, why was he holding and looking at the necklace that he still had. Wouldn't that be useless now?

I'm thinking he pendents should still work.

Yeah, but something made it unique to him. Figure it was the pendant and why they made a point of showing it.

Or he really is a wizard.

People seem to be forgetting one really important thing that happened in the first episode...is Charlie going around having unprotected fornication?! (since there's probably no protection/contraception available) *tsk tsk* indeed!

Re: Revolution -- Season Premiere -- "Born in the U.S.A." -- 9/25/13

Charlie is slutting it up and having casual sex

Miles is playing with swords again

Chubs McGoogle has a new girlfriend and gets slashed and brought back to life

Monroe is playing fight club.

and most importantly, the US of A is back

Awesome start to the new season of Revolution.

And damn, Stephen Collins has been busy this year. Falling Skies, Devious Maids and now this show.

I really thought those magic fireflies were going to crawl up McGoogle's keister to reanimate him.

Seems like the new writers have been watching some Walking Dead what with the town protected by metal barricades and a pseudo-Governor character running the war tribes.

He also played the father of one of the lesbians on the ABC Family Channel show - "The Fosters" - and there was homage
to his "7th Heaven" character as he married the two of them in the season finale. (He doesn't play a minister on that show
but instead just got a license online to do the ceremony)

Regardless of the show's flaws, I really like that the creators aren't afraid to keep marching forward. Too many of these types of shows stretch their stories and mysteries out until they're either cancelled or people stop caring.
