2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Renewals, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
Didn't want to do another dedicated ratings thread, so here's this.
Cancelled Shows: Lucky 7 (ABC) Link Renewed: Sleepy Hollow (FOX) (13 episode season) Link Full Season Order: The Black List (NBC) (22 episode season) Link Last night, Hostages and Blacklist debuted. Sleepy Hollow pulled a 3.1 for Fox which actually isn't bad, down from 3.5 last week but with a lot more competition. Blacklist pulled a 3.8 for NBC which is huge for them. Hostages pulled a 1.8 for CBS which means it will certainly be cancelled before it finishes its first season. Of course, Blacklist was also lead by The Voice which had a 4.9 rating, and 3.8 is lower than Revolutions 4.2 The Voice is effectively destroying the Fox singing competitions, The X Factor is barely registering this fall. Castle got a 2.2. In general, it looks like CBS may have some problems this season. http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/1011/c03x.jpg Two Broke Girls last season debuted with 10.14m viewers, 3.7 rating in the demo. Edit: The Voice was adjusted up to a 5.1, How I Met Your Mother up to a 3.7. |

Dads first to get canned.

Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
The ratings thread died in this forum because most people who follow TV actively already know to visit tvbythenumbers.com every morning.
I'm fine listing stuff here that gets picked up for a full season or gets a 2nd season or gets canned. |
Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
Figured it's a decent centralized zone for renew/cancel so we don't have to go searching for the latest episode of a show to say it was canceled.

Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
Wow that is awful for Hostages. Thought the actor who did American Horror Story might be able to get a nice following as this has been publicized for a while. Not sure I want to invest the time if it won't last. So thankful for OnDemand to watch all the new shows.

Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
When Hostages gets shitcanned early, who will use the excuse of 'but but but it was watched by 8 million people each night' when it would get in the 1's in the demo. see Vegas last year

Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
Hostages won't get cancelled IMO. They have nothing to replace it with. Intelligence isn't ready to air yet. The ratings are pretty similar to Hawaii Five-O from last season in the same timeslot. If it maintains consistent numbers like that, it should at least get all 15 episodes aired.

Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
This is a useful thread for those of us who want to know how shows are going well, whats likely to be cancelled etc
that tvbythenumbers site is a mess to me and also looks like it's easy to accidently read spoilers |

Tuesday 9/24:
http://imageshack.us/a/img843/8814/fkbo.png Man that was a lot of people watching TV at 8 pm  Apparently between 9 and 10 The Voice went up from a 3.6 to like a 5.4. I hate that Dads and Mindy are even, Mindy is a much better show. |
Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
Not bad numbers for NCIS/NCIS: LA. For Person of Interest, how does that compare with Hawaii Five-0 last year and where PoI was in its old time slot.

Lowest premiere for POI. Not that surprised that Chicago Fire beat it. As I said in a few of the Chicago Fire threads, that show is growing in momentum and has gained a steady audience. |

Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
Wow lots of people like NCIS. Dads I thought was going to be on Sunday for some reason. Wonder what ABC thought Marvels would do and if it will hold onto at least a 9 this year.

Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
Despite the 1.1 rating, ABC has renewed their summer show Mistresses for a 2nd season. Apparently it showed continued growth in the final 3 weeks.
HBO Renewed Boardwalk Empire for Season 5 as well. Cable note: Tuesday 9/24/13: #1. Sons of Anarchy - 4.48m viewers, 2.4 in 18 - 49 #3. Tosh.0 - 2m viewers, 1.2 in 18 -49 |
Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
Revolution returned last night and tied with it's series low (1.8 in 18 - 49), by comparison the series premiere last season pulled a 4.1 (but had a lead-in of The Voice). The heavily promoted SVU premiere did awesome for NBC (2.7, up from 2.1 last year)
The Middle pulled a 2.4 (last year: 2.9) // Modern Family pulled a 4.1 (last year: 5.5) Survivor pulled a 2.3 (last week: 2.6) // Criminal Minds pulled a 2.8 (last year: 3.1) // CSI pulled a 2.1 (last year: 2.5) The X Factor pulled a 2.5 (last week: 2.2) http://imageshack.us/a/img841/1186/yzoe.png Top candidates for Cancellation: Dads (Fox) Hostages (CBS) The Mindy Project (Fox) (:() Revolution (NBC) Lucky 7 (ABC) |
Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
Hostages is already dead with those ratings on CBS.

Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
Hostages won't be cancelled...it just won't be renewed.

Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)

those numbers for Parks and Rec make me
solid premiere for the MJF show. |
Re: 2013 - 14 TV Season Thread (Ratings, Cancellations, Comments, etc;)
With only 8.7m viewers, and a drop of 3m from Criminal Minds lead-in, I have to wonder if this will be CSI's last season. Will be interesting to see how it does next week when SVU isn't two hours.
