Slight off note but somewhat pertinent to the episode. Are the networks deciding to cram X-Mas and Thanksgiving themed eps. into one this season? I've noticed that several other shows are taking the same approach and more or less having the holiday themed eps. this week. I am guessing it has to do with sweeps ending, most viewers being busy over the next three weeks, and holiday specials coming on prime time.

One thing I liked about this episode was that Max was playing the straight man.

That was something I liked as well. While Caroline was a rich girl, she also has feelings and this is one ep. that showed the pain of her situation. I really felt sorry for her when her father refused to see her on Thanksgiving.

Re: 2 Broke Girls -- "And The Very Christmas Thanksgiving" -- 11/21/11
I was also shocked at how much this ep. got away with given its time slot, this was the nastiest yet. After the "Christmas comes" comment I actually paused thinking: they did just say that? While it wasn't the funniest IMO, it stuck with the strength of its two leads interaction to carry it, which was a smart move.
Personally I'm liking this show and although it's not quite graphically obscene enough for me to buy the boxsets at standard selling prices (unlike Curb Your Enthusiasm) I'm enjoying watching it on OTA and *may* pick up the season sets if a good price shows up.

And I'm hoping that busty pal may do a blurred out topless scene at some point that won't be blurred on the DVD set

I'm wondering if rich snob and busty pal may get a third sidekick if Whitney Cumming's show on NBC gets scrubbed like it's looking like it might since Cumming's is a co-creator and producer on this show as well.
And I'm hoping that busty pal may do a blurred out topless scene at some point that won't be blurred on the DVD set

Still although the melons are very nice they were iffy quality cellphone pics that were leaked...personally I'm hoping for something more official one day in HD. It'd certainly get me to buy a BR player.
Perhaps as a special feature on the season sets Hollywood?
Please?

And, yes, I have an agenda but I've been pretty open about it.
Media has become to puritian the last decade or two starting with Tipper Gore and her little parental warning labels on music and I do want to make it clear that I've got money in my pocket ready to spend for labels/companies that spice up their content.
2 Broke Girls is an excellent start.
Oh and I'm certainly not the only one in that thread who liked the idea of more boobage in Mad Men.

Honestly, this episode wasn't that funny. Most of the jokes were really forced.
There were a couple of funny parts.
at Caroline trading insults with the stable owner about Chestnut.
at Peach calling Max here Alcoholic servant.
There were a couple of funny parts.

Not their funniest episode but I did get some good laughs out of it. And I liked Max' moment at the end with Chestnut.

I'm hoping the horse is gone for good. Now they just need to get rid of the rest of the cast other than the two chicks.

Mediocre episode. Hopefully we'll get a great one next week before the break.
I'm also glad the horse is gone, I never saw much potential there... it kind of seemed like the writers thought the mere presence of a horse would be funny but it didn't have any discernible personality and the jokes surrounding it weren't that great.
I also agree that the teary goodbye was a little forced, it seems a little early in the show for that kind of thing and I doubt any of the viewers were really attached to Chestnut to share a sense of loss. I would have liked to see them save a scene like that for something else.

Just a heads up for those without DVRs. Next week's episode airs at 8PM as opposed to 8:30. How I Met Your Mother is off, and 2 Broke Girls is running a new episode followed by a rerun.

I could use more Garrett Morris. I believe he's underutilized. I bet given the chance he could show some acting/comedy chops.

Enjoying the crass comedy but the whole feelings and emotions on this show are really trying my patience.
If I wanted to watch an melodramatic episode about friendship and sticking together I'd go back in time and watch an ABC after school special. Or get a vag installed.

I don't mind the 'feelings and emotions'. The jokes really aren't that great IMO, it's the girls and their relationship that carry the show. Though I did like how the cook somehow unzipped Max's shirt during their hug.

With the boss and Garrett Morris (plus the cook to a lesser extent) they've got some comedy gold with the supporting cast they really should make use of more.

1) I couldn't give less of a fuck what you find disturbing.
2) Just because someone makes a biological reference doesn't make it a porn reference. Only someone whose one of those moral minority nutjobs would equate 'get a vag installed' (clearly a reference to women being more emotional than men) or 'being a dick' (aka a guy being a jerk) would think it was a porn reference just because it involves references to each gender's junk.
