Not a fan of the supporting characters, but I am really liking this show. Probably one of my favorite comedies on TV now.

The money count at the end is stupid. I think Caroline said they need at $100,000 (I can't remember the exact figure) to start their own bakery and at this rate they're only going to get up to this balance either by winning the lottery or through a wealthy benefactor.
Either that or Wharton grad Caroline finds some magical way to invest and use financial leverage that would make banking institutions jealous to get a massive return on their investment.

If I were them I'd be hitting the pavement and going to every bakery and diner to get their product out there and then doing the private parties whenever they can. And expand it to cakes. If you can make cupcakes, you can make cakes too.
But that's really not what the show is about, is it?

And like the counter at the end of the show. It's an original gimmick.

They need $200,000 to start up the bakery and that's to break even on the initial day. I love that the counter is going up now; for the last few episodes, it kept going down because they kept spending money to make money.

Maybe it was mentioned in the other weekly threads, but does the blonde chick remind anyone else of January Jones (Mad Men) ?

This episode was hysterical! Kat Dennings 1-liners were awesome.
Loved the cold open with Caroline's over the top singing.
Max: "Ma'am, It's hard enough that your husband took you to a diner on your birthday, but you have to listen to White Mariah....No!"
Cashandra: "Do me a favor love, put a chocolate to the side. He'll eat a vanilla if it's available, but always goes back to chocolate." I don't know why I laughed at that line.
Marsha Thomason doesn't look good with the frizzy hair though.
The girls were great at the art show. They played off each other so well. I got a good laugh when they started stuffing their faces and shirts with the cupcakes.
at Caroline waking up with the smushed cup cakes under her blouse.
Surprised that Caroline blew $500 on that artwork. So the counter remains the same.

I'm surprised how much I like this show. It's so low brow and crass, plus it's not like the jokes are over the top funny. But they make me laugh and I guess that's all that counts.

I love this show. And I liked Marsha Thomason's hair. Behrs and Dennings continue to play perfectly off one another and I love how Dennings got gradually drunk.
Oh and "did you flash a Batsignal on your vagina?" killed me.

I had to pause from laughing at the line:
"Max, what happened? I was only gone 20 minutes. What did you do? Shine a bat signal on your vagina?"

This show has very few laugh out loud moments for me but it's fun following the girls' adventures.
Kind of surprised at the joke about Mary Christmas hanging herself, seems like a pretty dark joke for a show like this.

Wow, I'm surprised at what this 8:30 show got away with. There were a ton of dirty jokes, especially Max's "cum shot".
I think this was the funniest episode yet. Even the guys at the diner were funny (I liked the cook's bit about smuggling cigarettes).
Caroline was awesome tonight. Loved her elf juice high and getting knocked over in the crotchless tights. I also liked her getting pissed off at the perky elf. That's a side of her we haven't seen.
So, over the last two eps the girls have lost $2. I wonder how many seasons the writers expect this show to last.

I was also shocked at how much this ep. got away with given its time slot, this was the nastiest yet. After the "Christmas comes" comment I actually paused thinking: they did just say that? While it wasn't the funniest IMO, it stuck with the strength of its two leads interaction to carry it, which was a smart move.

All things considered this show is very Two and a Half Men like... just a laundry list of raunchy jokes that are more focused on being dirty than being clever.
But the difference is that the two leads are actually enjoyable to watch.

I think they've done a good job of not making the blond unlikable. Sure she's a rich snob, but she's not a bitch, so it's easy to root for her and her busty as hell pal.
