I wonder if Breaking Bad will provide a lesson for other networks. Sometimes a show needs to run for a few seasons before it picks up steam, word of mouth, and viewers.
Imagine if AMC had cancelled BB after season 2, like so many quality shows that have gone off the air before their time. The short shortsightedness of ratings, today has to be evident.

Breaking Bad really deserves a 2-hour series finale......there is just too much shit going on.
I know they wanted to go out on top, but it's a shame the show is just really starting to blow up nationwide now, and it's over.

Any guesses as to why Walt called the Arizona DEA to lead the NH sheriff to his location at the bar? What was he trying to get out of that?

I do not think Walt dies at the ned. I think he comes back as the new Gus, he's been channeling Gus all season, we've seen it several times. I'm not sure how it happens though.

^^ Yeah, good point.
I think he channels Gus too. I think Walter is weak and has cancer... he's so weak he can't even put a needle in his arm and is destined to die. Heisenberg is cancer-free and will live forever.

I'd actually be okay with Walt surviving, and ending up as the ultimate kingpin, having completely "broken bad", without any friends and family, but with lots of money and power.

I love all the theories. Most of them have some merit, and seem plausible.
I look forward to whatever Vince G. and company have in store for us...

I predict everybody will die and the ending will be the whole cast up in Heaven playing harps like in Casino Royale. Except Walt, who will be shown being greeted in Hell by Woody Allen.

For those of you that haven't seen the Shield, spoilers below.
I am back and forth between Walt dying, or him being alive, but effectively neutered. He thrives on the power he had, but with his disease and the charges against him, it's all gone. He couldn't even force Saul to come with him. It reminds me of Vic at the end of the Shield. He got away with everything, but he is stuck in a cubicle, with no real power anymore.

best. episode. of. the. series.
i was in awe at the end. just in awe. when the music of Breaking Bad played for the first time ever during an episode i was struck hard. this was so good on so many levels.
i know why Cranston and Paul didn't win the Emmy this year bc the voters are waiting till next year and then a sweep of all will ensue.
just loved every minute and was on the edge of my seat.
my theory:
1. Walt will get his revenge.
2. Skylar and fam will live happily ever after.
3. some kind of showdown with Jesse and Walt.
4. Jesse will win, Walt will die somehow (either from the cancer or Jesse's hand).
5. Jesse will live, get some kind of peace and become the anti-hero i thought he was always destined and gradually deserved to become.

Saw this on Reddit. The show is deeper than I ever imagined (spoilered for size):

Is using the title music at the end mean we won't have the opening title? It would be cool if the end of the episode Is the actual beginning of the finale.

I can't believe people think Walt is going to kill Gretchen and Elliot.. Walt isn't a cold blooded killer.. All his kills were to save his own ass (or Jesse's)..

I hope the DEA busts the Aryan's meth operation (as a tribute to Hank), kills Todd and uncle Jack in the process, and gets a survivor to reveal the general location of the two buried bodies.
Also hope at the end that Walt dies either from some sort of shoot-out and Jesse is there to watch Walt's demise. Given Jesse's feelings for kids, I think the writers will try to have him reach Brock, if not in person, then by a third party in order to make sure the kid is looked after.

I posted another interview a few pages back where this episode's writer suggests the music was changed because Walt/Heisenberg are gone and who he is in the finale is completely different. That would mean he's capable of anything as well, including killing Gretchen and Elliot.
