Wow. I can't believe the end is only hours away. I have my pint of blueberry yogurt ready.
I wonder who's gonna bite the dust?

I still feel they've done a terrible job at painting James as a villain so I dread what last minute twist they conjure up to make taking him down the right move.
That said, I look forward to tonight. And I really hope USA makes that Sam & Jessie spinoff series.

None of the main characters will bite it. Mark my words.
There were many seasons where I prayed it would end, but stuck with it anyway for some reason. I'm glad I did, as the last two seasons have been pretty good.

I'm going to miss this show. It was like summer comfort foot TV for me and I always looked forward to watching it during the summer. Here's hoping for a good finale tonight.

I'll be sad it's over. It was a fun summer diversion. I think the show went off the rails quite a bit this year. It's not a bad thing, but it's not really the show it used to be.

I'm ready for it to be over at this point. Like you said - it was a fun summer diversion, but the fun was gone going back to last season.

Final minutes excellent. Nice to see Sam in uniform. Bring on the Sam and Jesse series.
Enjoyed the shoutouts to the opening narration.

No one will ever think to look for Michael & Fiona hiding in a Thomas Kinkade painting.
I almost cheered when Fiona said, "Should we shoot them?"
And then again for Sam, "Bunch of bitchy little girls."
Nice finale, but would rather have seen a long time villain bite it.

I still think they should have never killed off Jay Karnes character Tyler as easily as they did. He and Crazy Larry seemed to be Michael's arch enemies. Crazy Larry really got old after a while but Tyler would have fit nicely into the same spot James held.

I actually expected Larry to return this season. Especially since they left subtle hints that he had never died. Maybe if the Sam-Jessie spinoff leads to a TV movie with Michael and Fi, they can bring back Larry and finish him off properly.
Overall, I really enjoyed this episode. I still feel that James villainy was never properly established (his organization went after other terrorists so I fail to see why they were the bad guys) but the ending still felt good.
I was ambivalent towards the cutesy moments ("Should we shoot them?" and "Bunch of bitchy little girls") but I can't deny that I grinned when they happened.

Gotta say, I really liked it. Can't believe they dared kill off Mom, but she went out like a hero, cigarette in hand. And of course we all knew Michael & Fiona weren't dead, & after everything it was nice to see them with a little peace and quiet. Overall great series finale.

Matt Nix's next project is a medical drama Pilot for USA. It's still in development.
He is interested in doing a Sam and Jesse spinoff, but it looks like that won't happen for awhile.

I bet there's a high probability of both happening. Nix really started the whole USA with hip shows thing. They pretty much owe him for BN and the initial consulting he did for their other shows.

I hope you're right, starseed1981. I loved how this finale teased us with Sam and Jessie still working together.
I was pissed to see all the ads for this season and the rest of the series on DVD while watching the finale in HD. I really wish they'd release a BD series set.

I thought it was a great finale that fired on all cylinders - the first time the show has done that in a while. It had some great emotional moments, excellent action and I loved the callbacks for the fans. Even though I think the show overstayed it's welcome by 2 seasons at least, this was a great way to go out and I'll rewatch this episode from time to time. Would love a spin-off

With all the call backs to the opening intro, I was glad to see them end the show the way it always begins.
Michael "What should I tell Charlie when he grows up?"
Fiona "Just tell him... My name is Michael Weston and I used to be a spy"
And also...
Store clerk "$50,000 each?" "Yeah, I got the bald one and the one with the chin".

Re: Burn Notice -- Series Finale -- "Reckoning" -- 9/12/13
You know this is probably one of my favorite series finales in history. Everything that happened moved at a nice brisk pace, the action content was high, and it had a lot of fun easter eggs and call backs for long time watchers.
I also really liked how we had a lot of character development this season. This lead perfectly into the sacrifice which one of the characters made which didn't feel superficial or like something done for shock value. My only gripe is that I would have liked to have seen Michael and James have some kind of fight in their showdown. But like I said this was a great finale and a great ending for this series.
