I'm only on episode 4, but man is the wife getting more and more dumber as the show goes on and we discover more.

Oh, you mean my future father in law gassed a bunch of people? Seems like a bit of a deal breaker.

Sheik Rashid would have been dead before any election could have taken place. Jamal killing him was stupid.

Are we sure he's even dead? If he did, it could look like he died naturally since he was sick. It didn't seem like Jamal hit him too hard either.

I was really enjoying this episode until that stupid contrived ending. The second the Sheikh came into the bathroom, it was obvious how it was going to end. I was hoping that they wouldn't go that way, but sure enough.

Were we supposed to recognize the American woman sleeping with Jamal or was she a new character? This episode felt heavily padded, FX allowing shows to go over slot is not always a bright idea.

Finally Jamal asserts himself. So tired of Barry's shit.

I think new character. I assume she's a whore or more likely his concubine.

But I loved his wife's reaction to his first erection after the surgery.

I know this was from the previous episode, but am I to understand Jamal actually had sex with his son's wife on their wedding night and got her pregnant?

Not pregnant. I think he just used his hand to molest her.

Enjoying it so far (the show, not the molestation).

Yeah, I'm so glad he asserted himself in the dumbest fucking way possible. Damn that sensible Barry trying to fuck up the dictatorship!

Ahh, I must admit I wasn't really paying attention, but I thought she said she was pregnant to her dad and that's why Jamal shot the father.

Sorry, I was drunk as a lemur when I wrote that!
I'm just tired of Barry treating Jamal like he's developmentally delayed or something.

I thought we were suppose to believe that Jamal was on the edge of being developmentally challenged, possibly as a result of protecting Barry from their father. Almost every character in the show treats him like he's slow.

Nice.

Well to be fair, Jamal basically acts like a wild rabid dog, so someone needs to tame him before he and his regime can get a chance to run amuck.

Well he didn't have a functioning dick for some time, so I'll give him a pass.

That being said, it's pretty clear that it's set up that he's not all that intelligent.

Re: Tyrant (S1E07) -- "Preventative Medicine" -- 8/05/14

Pretty good episode. Bassam took quite a risk at getting caught. I thought someone was going to walk in at that moment. Also, what is the point of adding the clueless sister-in-law to the show? They haven't even done much with the kids outside of the gay subplot, so I don't see the point in bringing in another family member.

Seems like the sister in law is running from some major crime.

The last thing this show needed was any more white people.

What was Jamal's point in killing the mistress? Seems like he had a nice, long-term thing with her as a side piece.

He already committed to hitting the road with her as his escape plan. Then, as with all villains, the deal was altered.

Seems a little extreme. He could have told her the plans changed
