The only good thing about Redemption Island is that we didn't lose anybody tonight.

Marissa's fate being partly decided by her uncle's behavior certainly adds a dimension to the game, but I'm not sure if I like that yet.

I can't believe I totally forgot about this! The 4th time's the charm for Rupert!

Phew! For a second there I thought my (very late) pick of Laura would set some kind of record -- roughly ten hours between the time I selected her and (what I thought was) my exit from the contest...

cheers to the chivalrous Rupert! :P

Now I remember who Monica is!

I doubt she'll win, but not a bad pick. Brad Culpepper is looking very strong--too strong to make a serious run in the game.

Sorry postermen, thanks for playing.

I never would have expected Colton to be picked ahead of Rupert in our draft and I'm equally shocked that Rupert is the first to go!

Fixed.

sorry DaveNinja and Silly Burrito, thanks for playing.

I never knew Colton faked his illness last time. Another reason why he shouldn't have been invited back.

It's also worth noting that the 2 players that inspired the most venom against this season's casting are already gone.

At least I won once.

But I am glad Colton is gone, and hopefully NEVER will return. Twice a quitter. No way.

Sorry, Quack.

And wow, that'd be one fun time at Redemption Island... :P

sorry Quack, thanks for playing.

I can now honestly say that I'm liking this season. Those naysayers that bailed before it even started don't know what they are missing.

Agreed. This twist that causes each team to care about who gets voted out on the other team, as well as make it bittersweet when you win a challenge, has really changed the dynamic.

Plus, the idea that any alliance you have completely changes at the merge is another new twist. Very fun to watch the inner conflicts every step of the way.

It is funny though--bringing back people who have played this before once again shows how much of an advantage you have if you're a veteran. They're so much more cool about things than the newbies, because they know what kind of stress to expect.

What's interesting is that if the mother/daughter teams make it to the merge together, you know it's not the daughters that will be targeted anymore, but rather the mothers, who are completely safe right now...

Eh, didn't think I had that much of a chance with her as soon as she got the boot to RI week one!

Sorry T-Bone 22. Man, Candice was tough out there. I wish she hadn't been voted off week one because I think she could have lasted long.

Never saw the blindside coming. I just figured Laura B was an easy target. These returning players are ruthless.

Sorry T-bone22, thanks for playing. Candice was a good player, but RI is tough to survive.

Sorry Rob V, thanks for playing.

Tonight we finally got to see Tyson being Tyson and Vytas cleverly exploited the friction between Kat and Monica.

Whew, good to see my girl Laura do so well in battle. I need her to get back in the game, but I'm also torn, because she's determined to ruin my dream of a Arits vs Vitus finale.

Re: Survivor: Blood Vs. Water -- The DVDTalk Survivor Game Fall 2013 Edition

It's amazing how nearly one of every original couple has been removed from the game--only two remain (save Redemption Isle). I sure expected more teams to reunite come the merge.

Why Kat? Why? I guess I didn't have too high of hopes of her going far. Oh well.

Thought for sure Tina was done for after pretty much TWICE costing her team immunity AND being in a dangerous two-person alliance with her teammate daughter.

Re: Survivor: Blood Vs. Water -- The DVDTalk Survivor Game Fall 2013 Edition

Sorry, magi.

The women have really bumbled up their sure-fire five-person alliance and just strengthened the men's. And if John gets back in, they're gone unless the men start turning on each other.

Sorry magi, thanks for playing.

Laura B was probably right, but she just didn't play the game well.

Vytas now making it to the merge looks good for me!
