20th Anniversary of the X-files

Lots of good content out there today to celebrate a show that generated much discussion and helped create some awesome show runners/creators.

The Week says the X-files sparked a revolution in TV

Time looks at 9 favorite episodes

Huffpo looks at 20 guest stars

Maureen Ryan from Huffpo had 3 awesome interviews:

Homeland's Howard Gordon

Breaking Bad's Vince Gilligan

Hunted's Frank Spotniz

Anyone have any favorite memories? Best episodes?

For me I would say my favorite episodes were Pusher, Beyond the Sea, Ice and Small Potatoes

My favorite non-mytharc episode is The Unnatural. Very clever writing and one of the first episodes that really laid out the emotional aspects of a romantic Scully and Mulder relationship.

My favorite episodes, non-mythic or otherwise, are the ones written by Darin Morgan. His episodes were the first time I felt an authorial voice on a TV show other than the show-runner, to the point I looked up those episodes to see if they were from the same writer. I ended up eagerly awaiting "Jose Chung's from Outer Space," and was not disappointed.

The Unnatural and Bad Blood are my favorite episodes followed closely by Clyde Bruckman's Final Repost, Small Potatoes and Pusher. I thought the mythology got a little muddled toward the end but the last two seasons aren't nearly as bad as folks make them out to be.

Glad to see Tooms for Best Villain. “Squeeze” and “Tooms” are my favorite X-files episodes!
