re: Westworld -- The News, Rumors, Casting, Discussion Thread [Possible Spoilers]

The ambitious project, which doesn’t have an official premiere date, was shuttered for two months so executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy can catch up on the final four scripts. Production, which was originally scheduled to wrap in November, is now set to resume in March.
What's the code here? They're having to redo the ending of the series because either HBO didn't like it or some actors are going to jump ship?

I can't really imagine that an HBO production would need to catch up on the final four scripts of any series. Wouldn't they already have all of the season's scripts in hand before they started filming?

Maybe they had to write some actors out of the show who didn't comply with the prior statement.

Lili Simmons new project after the events of Banshee

Deadline says they've resumed filming. I'm guessing this will air in the Fall.

This wrapped shooting yesterday, according to ERW's twitter account. Really looking forward to it. I'm guessing we'll see a premiere in October or November.

Cannot wait to see it. I love Evan Rachel Wood in anything.

I had no expectations for this to be good when I first heard about it. But that trailer...damn. I am very interested in this now.

Given the production difficulties it's hard to get too excited, but the trailer did make me want to watch it.

I didn't know that Talulah Riley was in this.

But, will it be better than than the short-lived series, "Beyond Westworld"? Because if it can't surpass that high bar of quality, I'm not going to waste my time.

Very cool teaser.

According to thefutoncritic.com, the first season will be 10 episodes. That's pretty normal for HBO these days.

I'll be looking forward to this in October. With Person of Interest over, looks like Jonathan Nolan will be focusing his attention on this now. HBO probably won't officially announce it until after the premiere, but it's pretty much a certainty this has a second season deal locked up.

I'm pretty sure this will have no problem topping the god awful Yul Brynner film let alone that tv series.

Say whatever you want about "Beyond Westworld" or even the misbegotten sequel, Futureworld, but Westworld was a friggin' classic.

So did the actors really sign a waiver because they had to touch each other's junk or was it just a publicity stunt?

Just because people know of it and it has its share of fans (like one of the lesser, mediocre Planet of the Apes films) doesn't make it a classic. The film is simply awful. It's a cheesy guilty pleasure. Nothing more.

That movie was a goddam classic. I think you are in a minority thinking it was bad. One of the best Sci-fi's not just of the 70's, but ever.

I don't see any aspect that can be seen as awful or cheesy. It was smart in the way it handled the sci-fi aspect and did not show the viewer too much. The settings, effects, acting, music and direction were all very strong.

Nostalgia is a hell of a thing. When's the last time you've actually watched it? It is god awful. Richard Benjamin's performance alone makes most of his scenes borderline unwatchable.

I think Westworld is a great movie.

Oneof my favorites from the 70's.
