I don't really have a good bead on who will be a strong competitor this season. Will make placing my bet very difficult.

Go Team Mr. Plow!
Any interest in an Amazing Race "Fantasy" game this season? This would run in addition to the usual pool we have, but it would work somewhat differently. Instead of drafting a team, players would draft individual players and form their own "team". The performance of your team is aggregated based on the players in it. The team size would be based on how many participants I get.

I'm still figuring out how I would score things, assuming people are interested. But essentially, your team would earn points each week based on the performance of the people in in.
For example, if you had a two person team in week one, and one of them came in first and the other was eliminated you might get 10 points for the first contestant and 0 for the second. As long as you still have one player in the race, you will continue to accumulate points.
I want to make it so having players who are consistently strong is better than having players who bumble their way to the final four. So it would be possible to win the fantasy race even if nobody on your team is a first place finisher.

Another thing: I would allow trading between legs. So it would be possible, due to lopsided trades, for players to end up with different size teams.

No, because everybody else would be on other people's teams. The player would still be on your team, they just would stop accumulating points (unless they were brought back in the game for some reason).

I like the sound of this game so far.
