Keep coming back every week to tell us how horrible it is.
Everytime I see that guy, I think he's a poor man's version of Christian Bale. As for the show, I liked it. Strong and James are always great in whatever they do. Liked all the twists and turns. http://www.thesuperficial.com/james_...st_ass-04-2006 |

It retained a lot of Breaking Bad's audience.
It'll plummet even further next week with all of the terrible reviews (The Onion AV Club has already reviewed next week's ep and gave it a C-). |

Some of these shows need to learn how to hook people early. If it's a slow burn once you've got people hooked, that's fine.
But start off with boring characters/slow-to-move storylines etc., and it's over. Apparently The Killing got pretty good this year, but I didn't watch much after dealing with the first 2 seasons in their entirety, amazingly. |

I liked it. The side-story needs to be fleshed out some more, but that's the only problem I had with it.

I enjoyed it. It helps that I really enjoy this cast. While a little odd in how their expressions were beforehand, I liked the reveal that they duped the security camera footage.
Also, I don't mind not having every detail explained in the pilot. Gives us something to look forward to in future episodes. |

So, you actually think losing more than half of BB's audience somehow translates to "it retained a lot of BB's audience"?

Not impressed at all ..... I'll go with the 2nd episode, but if that doesn't do it for me, I'll pass on the rest of the season.

Didn't hold my attention, and my TV watching time is limited. Done. Maybe I'll catch it on Prime or Netflix someday.

Yeah, so far, so good though the side-story was seemingly way out to the side. I didn't think it was particularly slow.

Finally watched this last night as well and agree with several of you about the side-story. Took away from the rest of the episode (which I really liked and was invested in), so I hope it evolves into something interesting.

Re: Low Winter Sun -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 8/11/13
The show will do fine if it's at least a little bit clever in the writing. I liked a couple of suggestions that someone made on another forum. They were:
1.) Frank and Damon are brothers/half-brothers. 2.) Damon somehow discovers that Frank and Joe killed Brendan. He uses that information to blackmail both of them into doing his dirty work. If nothing else, these sound like a much-needed way to link the main plot with the subplot, and it opens up plenty of storyline possibilities. |
