The Colbert Report - August 6, 2013
Did anyone watch this? Apparently Daft Punk was scheduled to appear for Stephen's annual summer concert show (Colbchella), but they canceled at the last minute because of a contract with MTV not to do any appearances before the VMA awards show.
So Colbert turned the whole show into jokes about how he got screwed over, getting in some good digs at the offending parties. There's also a fun video with some celebrity cameos, and then a great musical performance at the end. If you missed it, it's probably up on the Comedy Central website, or will be soon. |

I really enjoyed the episode. It was either all planned or they did a great job getting all the guests last minute. When Kutcher came out I was hoping he'd stay as a guest and talk about Jobs.

I've read conflicting reports about how far in advance they knew Daft Punk wasn't going to appear. The dancing video with all the celebs could have been something they had already made for the Daft Punk show that didn't happen, and I imagine Robin Thicke has been performing his song all over lately so he probably wouldn't have needed much prep time before appearing.
