Yup, 2 was awesome. I like how they just went all in on this one. They knew people wanted lots of sharks and lots of absurdity and they delivered.

I watched the first 30 minutes last night before I had to call it a night. Will finish it up later today.

That 1st act was hilarious and I loved all the random cameos like Wil Wheaton, Downtown Julie Brown and Billy Ray Cyrus. I was impressed they got Matt Lauer, Al Roker along with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.

 at that whole plane crash sequence and Tara getting her arm chewed off by one of the flying sharks.

.

And Robert Hayes from 'Airplane' flying the plane, along with Judd Hirsch from 'Taxi' driving the Taxi.

Tara Reid's makeup was so bad early on it looked like they were trying to cover a bruise on her cheek.

One problem: Shark movie without babes in bikini or skimpy attire. They should at least have included an attack on a strip club or something.

This just came in my Horror Block today: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/robbrism/063.jpg

My son loved it and snatched it away immediately.

He is 10 and I was curious if Sharknado 1 and 2 are okay for that age? I haven't seen either one of them but was thinking about checking it out since I do love bad horror movies.

Re: Sharknado 2: The Second One (SyFy) - 7/30/14

Sharknado 2: The Second One, the second installment in Syfy‘s campy disaster franchise, exploded last night with 3.9 million viewers and 1.6 million adults 18-49, becoming the channel’s most watched original movie ever. It dwarfed last summer’s original, which became a surprise hit, soaring 183% in total viewers and 190% among adults 18-49. In the demo, Sharknado 2 topped several broadcast shows last night, including CBS’ Extant, Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance and ABC’s Motive.

The sequel also drew bigger numbers on Twitter, generating 581,000 related tweets from 188,000 unique authors, up from 318,000 tweets by 112,000 users for the original movie on July 11, 2013, according to Nielsen. Syfy estimates that the sequel was the most social movie on TV ever, delivering one billion impressions in Twitter conversations. A third Sharknado installment is already in the works.
That's a roughly 1.3 rating in 18 - 49, the first had a 0.5.

There is no nudity/sex or real profanity (unless the DVD/BR/Netflix/etc. version has additional stuff added in) but there is plenty of gore. Most of it is pretty cartoonish and more silly than scary... especially in the sequel. Probably the most intense scene is near the start of the first one.

Spoiler:
There is a shark attack on the beach and it's a bit more traditionally horror than the rest of the movie(s)... there's a guy on the beach with his legs bitten off, for instance.

Totally ridiculous, but still fun.

I love how it's supposedly one of the biggest storms ever, but while half of Manhattan is being flooded and destroyed, nobody seems to be evacuating and there are still plenty of pedestrians and no panic.

And the bit with the wedding ring.

I'm not saying that ALL of the SyFy crappy monster movies should be so campy and self-aware, but this was great.

Two have come out so far and I have been loving it. Big  from me.

And every horror block comes with the current issue of horror mag Rue Morgue which I really like.

I loved it.

It was campy as hell, but fun.

I loved how Ian Ziering played Fin with such a straight face. He was so over the top and hilarious. Glad he finally found his calling as a B movie action hero post-90210.

Did anyone catch the Jaws reference with Mark McGrath and Kari Wuhrer's characters names? They were named Martin and Ellen Brody.

rotfl at Lauer and Roker killing the shark in studio together.

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...knado-3-is-go/

Ian Ziering also confirmed that Sharknado 3 was greenlit.

He said that he orginally approached Jennie Garth about playing his sister and she wanted to do it, but was busy doing a book tour.

Rough is putting is nicely. Back in 1996 when she first appeared on ID4, I thought she was a pretty decent looking actress. But, she resulted to lots of plastic surgery and a boob job to offset aging and it's not working to her benefit. She stopped getting decent movie roles years ago.

Vivica Fox used to be smoking. She has not aged well at all.

Ian Ziering rocked in this.

Mark McGrath looked OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD.

Yeah. She was so hot in Indy Day and especially Booty Call.

Ha Ha this is cheesy fun. And yes Fox looks old and fat and horrible. I love the "chicken or fish" dinner conversation on the plane

And if the two sharknados were to meet? A storm of biblical proportions. Lol

I watched it yesterday - and loved these cameos!

They also had Daymond from 'shark tank'

There was also a nod to Jaws III when Tara Reid was talking about the shark with a scar and missing eye and how it seemed to recognize her and was out for revenge.

I didn't want to come off sounding like too shallow of a pig. Haha. Even in Kill Bill she looked alright.
