Synopsis:

FROM DC COMICS ENTERTAINMENT AND UBER PRODUCERS GREG BERLANTI, MARC GUGGENHEIM AND ANDREW KREISBERG COMES A STORY OF A MAN TRYING NOT ONLY TO SAVE HIS CITY, BUT TO SAVE HIMSELF — After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. Back in Starling City, Oliver slowly reconnects with those closest to him, his devoted mother Moira (Susanna Thompson), beloved sister Thea (Willa Holland), and best friend Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell), but struggles with his ex-girlfriend Dinah "Laurel" Lance (Katie Cassidy), who blames him for her sister's death. Oliver has brought back many new skills from his time on the island and despite the watchful eye of his new bodyguard John Diggle (David Ramsey), Oliver manages to secretly create the persona of Arrow - a vigilante - to right the wrongs of his family and fight the ills of society. As Arrow, Oliver will atone for the past sins of his family while he searches for the personal redemption he needs. Paul Blackthorne also stars. David Nutter directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Marc Guggenheim and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim.

So not all the episodes? I have a friend I've been trying to get in to this.

Some of the episodes are self contained as you know, so they could feasibly skip a few.

That tentative schedule has 18 of the 23 episodes airing. That's actually quite a lot to get re-aired. And who says they can't possibly double up a few weeks if they want to get them all aired?

I missed Legacies and that is the only episode I will watch if it airs.

I missed S1 but I don't have TV or cable. I mean I watch TV shows on XBOX LIVE using Netflix or Hulu. What pisses me off is Hulu doesn't even have all of S1 up. They only have some eps.

Weren't some of the 23 filler as it was expanded to a full season almost midway through the debut?

How does this show compare to Smallville?

Well, the Pilot is re-airing for East coast viewers now. I already gave you all enough advance warning. Hope some new viewers join in.

What DJ said. I'd say it's more gelled as a cast and the producers have a more detailed vision. If you liked Smallville at least somewhat, I'd say it's at least worth watching the first 12-13 episodes.

It's a more adult show than Smallville ever was, with less obvious nods to any of the comic book source material. The Green Arrow on this show is closer to a mix of Jason Bourne and a kill-happy Batman, than a superhero that dresses up in tights and shoots arrows.

It's as if you took Nolan's Batman and applied it to Smallville. I was skeptical at first, but man was it one of my favorite shows of the past television seasons.

I watched the pilot last week and enjoyed it a lot; great pacing and much better than anything I remember from Smallville. I'm by no means a Green Arrow comic fan though.

According to the TV listings at TVGuide.com - Episode #11 - Trust But Verifly - aired last night - July 3. Episode #12 - Vertigo - will air next Wednesday night - July 10 and Episode #13 - Betrayal - will air two Wednesdays from now - July 17.

So they jumped from Episode #6 - Legacies - to Episode #11 - Trust But Verifly - thus we "catch the show on repeats" viewers miss a months worth of episodes. Sucks we miss that amount in a row but the good news is that if we do get 18 of the 23 episodes being repeated that now means we will only miss 1 more episode the rest of the season. Even though we could afford to miss the episodes as they are probably filler - would be nice if the CW posted a 5-10 min recap online of the four episodes. Then we wouldn't miss any possible additions to the cast or more importantly any tidbits of information that we need to know for the upcoming episodes. Guess I can always search for the episode threads here or read the wikipedia summaries to catch up.

Now I wish CW would drop the "Supernatural" repeat (they don't need to repeat those episodes as they don't need new viewers as its too late to get into the show and after what 9 or 10 seasons, their viewers are programmed to not miss an episode.) and show two episodes of "Arrow" a week because after seeing one episode, I want to see whatever one they show next right away - I can't wait a week! Wish I could go back and change my Wednesday night-8:00 pm ET viewing and switched "Arrow" with one of the two shows I recorded - "Survivor"/"WWE Main Event". Or got into the whole viewing the episodes online sooner - only started doing it a few months ago. Too bad I'm not on the list - Oliver could have hunted me down/shot me with a "Watch my show now, its darn good" arrow! LOL!
