No Blu-Ray. DVD only for this release. Posting it here since putting it in the DVD forum wouldn't get much interest.

Arrested Development
Season Four

Arrives on DVD December 16 From
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 4, 2014) - The final countdown is over! Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and series creator Mitch Hurwitz have completed the search for the ultimate "Arrested Development" fan, selecting Chad Malone from Tennessee as the winner of the Season Four fan art contest. After scouring through hundreds of entries devoted to the Bluth clan and hilarious Emmy-winning series (2005, Comedy Series: Writing. 2004, Comedy Series: Directing, Writing, Casting, Single-Camera Picture Editing, Outstanding Comedy Series.), Malone's design was chosen as the cover for the "Arrested Development" Season Four DVD, available everywhere December 16. "I consider winning this contest to be one of my greatest personal achievements," said Malone. "Everyone knows that I'm a huge fan of the series. Entering this contest was NOT a huge mistake!"

Welcome to Season Four of the Emmy-winning series about the ethically questionable but unquestionably hilarious Bluth family. This season, when Michael asks Gob to help fill the vacant Sudden Valley housing development, the isolated location becomes a selling point to sex offenders, including...Tobias? After Buster's testimony helps land Lucille in "prison," her solution to hostile inmates is to build a great wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, where Oscar and George Sr. have a scam going. Lindsay seeks spirituality, Maeby likes high school too much and George-Michael has a very unlikely rival in "Arrested Development's" funniest season yet!

The "Arrested Development" Season Four DVD comes loaded with never-before-seen special features including several making-of featurettes, profiles of your favorite characters and more.

I was really hoping the fourth season would lead to the whole series being released on Blu-ray.

Fox has all but abandoned TV on DVD. Archer, The Simpsons, and select FX programming (like Sons of Anarchy and Justified) are pretty much all that's left.

I wouldn't expect AD.

I was hoping for blu-ray, too, but I'll take what they give. That said, this season still doesn't hold the special place the others did for me. I much preferred the fan-edited version of it.

Blu-ray would add nothing to this show - visually, it kinda' looked like shit, especially this last season with all the bad green-screen work.

Sucks. Was hoping for a complete BD set.

Sucks if you waited to watch this from Netflix so you could see a slightly better 1080p version on disc a year later. Now you don't.

Mitch Hurwitz is re-editing Season 4 to make it more chronological and adding in new jokes:
http://www.eonline.com/news/594600/a...on-4-rerelease

Creator Mitch Hurwitz said he's re-editing season four of the hit comedy that came back to life on Netflix in 2013 and executive producer/narrator Ron Howard took the news one step further on Twitter.

Howard, who has also appeared in the comedy, tweeted the below photo from the recording studio. "Recording new narration for re-edit of @ArrestedDevelopment 4. New footage, new jokes—Feels like a whole new season," he tweeted....

"Right now I'm cutting a version of season four that tells it kind of chronologically," Hurwitz said in an interview when discussing scheduling conflicts and the show's Netflix era. "And that's a whole different era."

This is GREAT news. It could make a huge difference in the enjoyment of the season. I watched the Hurwitz version of season 4 about half way through, then switched to the fan edit I mentioned above (Hurwitz actually encouraged people to see it). It was SO much funnier seeing it chronologically.

Wonder if they'll release that version on blu-ray...or even DVD...

New news story on a possible Season Five:

Is “Arrested Development” coming back for more new episodes? According to exec producer Brian Grazer, yes — and 17, to be exact.

In an interview released Tuesday, Grazer confirmed rumors that the comedy will return.

“I love ‘Arrested Development,’ but it was never a huge thing. But people are loyal to it,” Grazer said on the “B.S. Report” podcast, which was taped last month at SXSW. “We’re going to do another 17 episodes, so stay tuned for ‘Arrested Development.'”

If this is true (and since it's an Exec Producer, that's a decent source), they may release the rumored edited Season Four along with a new Season Five.

I recall a rumor shortly after the season 4 release that they were going to do that (recut into chronological episodes) but other than some fan edits I never heard anything further. Hard to believe it's been 5 years but glad he went ahead and did it.

There was also a fan edit that was out in only a few days of the season's premiere, even before the announcement of an official re-edit.

Re: Arrested Development (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- 5/26/13

The Remix looks to have replaced the original Season 4 on Netflix, so the only way to watch the original edit is to buy it on DVD or digitally.

Edit: My bad, Netflix has moved the original cuts to the "trailers and more" section.

I skimmed the letter and missed that, my eyes go for red circles.

Wow. It's here. There goes my weekend. I love this show.

While I like the format of the original cut, I think the remix will be my accepted way of viewing it in the future. Plus, I've watched the original cut 50+ times. So it's a nice change.

I think lots of narration is new too. Season 4 plays like an album to me. So the remix feels very new.

Also just saw that Tambor will be returning for Season 5 (after being outed in the #metoo movement).
