Re: MacGruber 2 - News, rumors, etc.
I think Will Forte, Bill Hader, Chris Parnell and Will Arnett all turned out to be good SNL alum.
MacGruber is confrontationally absurd and just very stupid. Two things I love!

Will Arnett was never an SNL cast member.

Looks like this may happen, but as a series:

A “MacGruber” series starring the original cast including Will Forte and Kristen Wiig has been pitched to various streaming networks, writer-director Jorma Taccone said in an interview published Friday.
“We just spent the last two days pitching it as a series,” Taccone told The Daily Beast. “Eight-to-ten episodes.”
The Lonely Island member created the original character, a spoof of the action series “MacGyver,” for “Saturday Night Live” in 2007. Played by Forte, the character appeared in a number of sketches and was later adapted into a 2010 feature film starring Forte, Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, Val Kilmer and Maya Rudolph.
According to Taccone, all are on board to return should the series find a home.
“I would feel terrible if the people involved were embarrassed about it, but Ryan loves that s–t, Kristen loves that s–t, all the people involved are so psyched,” he said.
The 2010 film was a critical and financial failure, pulling in just $9.3 million worldwide, but nonetheless rising to the level of cult favorite among fans.

I’d sort of rather just have it be a sequel movie truthfully. I liked the film but I don’t know if I’d watch it as a series. I guess maybe if it’s just a one-off limited series it might be okay.

I can't wait for this to be a series... we got screwed out of a proper Last Man on Earth ending as I think Forte is highly under-rated. I must be the only one who thought MacGruber was a funny movie... the sex scene alone was worth the money.

the movie is severely underrated.. the explosion of his buddies and the sex scene were hilarious
if they do this show, it better be on Netflix or Hulu

Thanks for pointing me toward the graveyard scene. If that's the best scene in the movie, I now know I don't need to watch the rest of the movie, or the series.
I loved Popstar and liked Neighbors. *shrug*
For those of you who like it, I hope the series is how you hope it is.

Billy Zane will face off with MacGruber in a battle no one saw coming as the actor has been cast in the upcoming MacGruber series coming to Peacock.
Zane is replacing Mickey Rourke in the role of Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. He’ll be joining series leads Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, and cast members Sam Elliott and Laurence Fishburne.

Holy shit, Mickey Rourke must be impossible to work with. Billy Zane seems like a better choice anyways- I don't think I could deal with Mickey Rourke doing a British accent.

At first I read this bumped thread as MacGyver show in the works, but yeah...I remember the MacGruber film quite some years back. The film was not...umm, good, but I guess a tv show might work, and as noted can't be any more pointless than the film. Also, for the most part I like Billy Zane as an actor so the cast for this show seems to be shaping up well.

^^ You're right, it's not "good"... it's AMAZING! The license plate obsession, the banging a ghost - hell, all banging scenes, him begging Ryan Phillipe to join the team. So many funny moments.

Okay, does the end of the trailer really end with Macgruber really saying no not Rest & Relaxation but rapping and raping? A rape joke in the year 2021, okay then...this will clearly be a very irreverent comedy.

Oh....I was basically holding my computer headphones close to my ear so what he said at the end may have been a bit muddled to my ears. Thanks for clearing that up for me folks.
