If this show had maintained this quality throughout it's entire run I would have kept watching. Pretty good sendoff for the show if you ask me.

Great sendoff, shame all the water cooler talk tomorrow will be about American Idol.

Hey...a finale that didn't actually suck! Too bad the last 2 years weren't anywhere near the quality of this episode. Farewell, Dunder Mifflin.

I agree that the Robert California year was pretty much a disaster, but this year was fairly strong, minus the Andy/Erin stuff. I thought the Christmas episode where Dwight dressed up as Belsnickel was a classic.

Great finale. Seeing Michael again reminded me how much I missed him. It seemed like a majority of people were tired of Michael and thought "good riddance" when he left, but I was never in that camp. He really was the heart and soul of the show and never should have left.
I'll really miss the show.

Great finale. Very happy with the episode.
The "That's what she said" couldn't have been any better. Soo happy to see Michael again.
I'll miss Jim and Pam most of all.

Loved the finale. Great seeing Micheal and a wonderful last 15 minutes. I had tears in my eye.

These last three episodes are what I expected from the final season. It's a shame the rest of this season was so bad, even with Greg Daniels back.

Thoroughly enjoyed the finale, and liked how they didn't dwell on the wedding or the panel, but just moved through them as part of the overall episode. The last 10 minutes or so with the characters giving their retrospective was perfect. Got you thinking about your own life, too. Great stuff.

This thread wouldn't be complete without:
"Hey everybody let's go to the WAREHOUSE and to unveil a painting of everyone who works UPSTAIRS."
And only by watching the retrospective and seeing one of the writers give his thoughts did I notice that same person standing next to Pam in the group shot in front of the mural. In fact I'm guessing that whole group shot was probably a lot of the crew, which must have been a great moment.

Really liked the finale. It was great seeing Michael again, but I really liked some of the call backs from the early episodes, like talking about the office olympics, and the return of Carol and Devon.

Really enjoyed the finale. Liked the way it was handled being some time later and looking back at all the changes for many of the characters.

Enjoyable finale. watched the show since it first aired and despite its decline, especially the last 2 years, it still had its moments and characters. Glad that the last few episodes ended the show well.

While the last two seasons really had some painful episodes to sit through, this finale was the perfect sendoff.

Great moment when Michael appeared. I felt he would be in this although they did a very good job making us think he wouldn't.

Wow. That was an excellent finale. Seriously well done. I totally marked out when the "that's what she said line happened." It was time to go, but I'll miss it.

They knocked it out of the park with this one. Everything was pretty much perfect. I never hate-watched the show but the early years were better. That said, a lot of that lead to this and it really was awesome.
I loved Jim and Pam the most. They had one of the best relationship stories on TV and I'm sad to see it go. But man, what a send off.

Re: The Office -- Retrospective and "Finale" -- Series Finale -- 5/16/13
I have to admit that I was skeptical that the finale wasn't going to let me down after watching the first twenty minutes or so, which I thought were just so-so. But the last half hour really did hit on all-cylinders and did recapture a lot of the effortless sweetness of the good years. Even Jim and Pam, who have bored and annoyed me so much in recent years were able to evoke a positive reaction. In particular, I really appreciated Pam's two speeches at the end of the show - really nice summaries of both her character throughout the years of the show, as well as the best aspects of the show itself.
Really, this episode (or the last half of it, especially) makes me lament how great the show could have been as a whole if it had wrapped up three or four years ago with Michael still a part of it all, and without all of the mediocrity of the last few years that diminished the overall legacy of it.

Both sad and glad it's over. One of the only long running shows that I watched every episode. Can't believe it's been eight years. But glad it's over because it's been running on fumes the past couple seasons. Almost depressing to watch the last couple episodes and realize how badly they squandered those characters.

The last few seasons have been painful to watch, so I'm glad it's over. The finale was great and seeing Michael again made it better. I loved this show for the first five seasons and that's what I'll remember it for.

No one else was bothered by the way Dwight fired Kevin and Toby?
I always thought Meredith had a daughter not a son...Guess I was wrong...Anyone remember her having a daughter?
I hope Erin gets paternity/maternity tests for her "parents" in case they are just scam artists trying to cash in on her new found fame.
Couldn't Michael have just gotten and iPod Touch if he needed another device for photos? He wouldn't have had to pay for another phone number. Michael has too much gray in his hair. He needs to darken it up.

A very nice send off. Not a lot of really funny bits, but just enough with Michael and Creed to make it great, and some very sweet and touching stuff at the end with each of the characters.
Sad to say goodbye to all the characters.

Pam and Andy seemed kinda weird...I assumed they had an affair.
