Someone's gotta stay home and watch the kids. Michael and Holly had at least two kids in the (approx.) 2 years since he left DM. Well, I guess they could have came to the wedding like Ryan's baby.

It doesn't happen all at once, but from the fourth season onward those elements just creep in more and more, making each subsequent season a little bit worse than the one that preceded it.
Agree completely season 1 to 3 were golden. I could not believe how amazing the show was then season 4 was a bit weaker I think they started it with the hour long episodes too then 5 which had less memorable episodes and well it continued deflating by pieces kinda like HIMYM anyhow great ending only wish Michael would have shown up at the office at the very end with the rest of them, don't care if it don't make sense (show stopped making sense anyways) the image of all the original members at the Office one last time is cool

So many stars came out of that show like Steve Carrell, Ed Helms, John Krasinski, Rain Wilson, Craig Robinson, Rashida Jones, and Mindy Kaling.

Can't say the same about 2 & 1/2 Men, Big Bang Theory, and Modern Family.

One has nothing to do with the other but I'll play along.

Steve Carrell and Ed Helms: first, as pointed out they're Daily Show alums first and foremost. Second, each has headlined one certified hit movie, both early in their careers and neither were the reason people saw the movies. (40yoV & Hangover) Animated films aside, both have been in mostly duds since.

Krasinski, Wilson, Robinson, Jones & Kaling: they all have potential but I wouldn't put any of them above any of the actors in the other three shows you mention. All also have the equal potential to disappear of the face of the planet.

Pretty sure they said three and he was expecting a fourth. To be fair, he left two years before the documentary aired and then an entire year went by before the documentary crew came back. So he had three kids in three years. That's certainly not unheard of, and it wasn't mentioned if perhaps he had twins.

Plus, with Holly likely in her late 30s/early 40s (similar to Amy Ryan), they might have been racing to beat the biological clock.

Hey, Rashida's a Freaks and Geeks alum. Now that was a show with a lot of stars coming out of it...

I don't think the Office even makes it to a Season 2 if not for the success of 40 Year Old Virgin.

The Office was renewed for a Season 2 in May 2005, 3 months before 40 Year Old Virgin was released, albeit for only 6 episodes initially:

NBC ordered an additional 7 episodes shortly after 40 Year Old Virgin was released:

The show also received a ratings boost in the 2nd season that's attributed to it being one of the first TV shows available on iTunes:

Depends on your definition of "star" i guess.
Only Steve Carrell, and maybe Ed Helms would I consider "stars". And has been previously stated, both are better known for projects other than The Ofiice.
