Arrow -- Season Finale -- "Sacrifice" -- 5/15/13

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey) race to stop the Dark Archer (John Barrowman) from unleashing his vengeance on The Glades. However, they run into a roadblock after Detective Lance (Paul Blackthorne) picks up Felicity for questioning. Tommy (Colin Donnell) and Oliver's already tumultuous relationship takes a turn for the worse after Oliver makes a confession about Laurel (Katie Cassidy). After hearing of the danger in The Glades, Thea (Willa Holland) races to find Roy (Colton Haynes), inadvertently putting herself directly in the line of fire for Malcolm's (John Barrowman) devious plan. On the island, Oliver, Slade (Manu Bennett) and Shado (guest star Celina Jade) are locked in a life-or-death struggle against Fyers (guest star Sebastian Dunn) as his missiles lock on a full Ferris Air jetliner. Susanna Thompson also stars. David Barrett directed the episode with the teleplay written by Marc Guggenheim & Andrew Kreisberg and story by Greg Berlanti (#123).

Episode 23 of 23

Been a pretty good 1st season. I would say 80-85% of season 1 was solid entertainment. If you missed it, I highly recommend getting the BD or watching the re-airs.

The Pilot re-airs starting on May 29th.

Hell of a finale. Surprised at who didn't make it... but it helps with not restricting it to the storyline everyone thought would happen. Look forward to next year.

Tommy!!! Noooooo!!!!! Redeemed and written off all at the same time.

It's like the writers said, "Fuck it, lets kill all the villains and start fresh next season".

Well that was somewhat surprising. They way they made it seem with these past 5 episodes or so, Tommy was going to take over for his dad. Pretty awesome that they destroyed half of The Glades, though.

It was an okay finale I guess. But what's next? The origin story is pretty much played out, and Oliver has taken out the villain that was most relevant to his past, and Laurel's dad now sympathizes with the Hood. I'll watch the first couple of episodes in season 2, but I doubt I'm going to stick with it for another whole season. I already felt like this season was about 10 episodes too long.

Re: Arrow -- Season Finale -- "Sacrifice" -- 5/15/13

I really enjoyed the last few episodes. Show kinda lost steam with me a month ago and I just let them build up on my DVR but I blew through them all tonight. If this show didn't take itself so seriously there is no way it would work as well as it does. It's not grade A drama, but it's a solid super hero TV show.

Maybe they could go back to a new villian for every episode and also less Felicity.

I wonder if his Mom will go to jail for revealing her involvement with Meryln.

I grew to like Tommy near the end and I hope he comes back.

I was hoping Roy got killed since I hate that love angle with him and Thea.

I was surprised Tommy died. Seem like they were setting up Black Arrow 2. His mom should be in jail. The lady has a lot of dirt on her hands. The more I see of Roy the more I don't like him.

Why the Roy hate? Don't you want to see some Speedy team up action?

A good ending for Tommy. I wouldn't have mind if he lived and they became friends again. But I'm just glad he didn't become black hood 2 which would have been the predictable storyline.

I don't like the actor and the stiff who plays him.

Probably the guy who plays Tommy probably got another acting gig so they had to kill him off

More Felicity and less Laurel please. Or at least replace the actress who someone who could actually act, or had chemistry with Oliver, or at least didn't have a face that resembles Poppin' Fresh's belly.

Seriously. She's got a doughy, chinless look on the best of days, but when she started crying at the end of the ep it looked like her face was sliding off her skull.

Awesome finale! I was honestly surprised by the second earthquake-generator and that Malcolm actually succeeded with his plan. And yes, more Felicity dammit!

Will Oliver eventually look like this when the series progresses?

I like the look he has in the show. I just wish they would stop calling him the Vigilante or The Hood and start calling him Green Arrow or just Arrow.

Re: Arrow -- Season Finale -- "Sacrifice" -- 5/15/13

Damn good finale.

Tommy did redeem himself in the end. Kind of a sad death scene with him and Ollie.

The fight scene with Ollie and Malcolm was pretty damn intense. Great martial arts fight choreography. And of course he had a backup plan. The Glades getting pummeled was pretty sick.

Now that Ollie's Mom is going to prison, I wonder what her role will be like next season. Even though Malolm is dead, I have to assume a new season bad guy will emerge.

And yes, more Felicity please!!!!

Won't happen, just like they never called Clark Kent "Superman" on Smallville.

We never did find out why Malcolm is an archer.

Which is one of the main reasons why I love the show.

The first season was one long movie and can stand on its own with no goofy cliffhanger.

But we also don't know who was in the chair ordering Fires, who trained Malcolm, who is above Malcolm, what else happens on the island because Oliver still can't fight, Diggle/Deadshot, Russian mafia, etc.

Love the show and can't wait to see what happens in the future.
