Arrow -- "The Undertaking" -- 5/01/13

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

Finding it difficult to mend fences with Tommy (Colin Donnell) and Diggle (David Ramsey), Oliver (Stephen Amell) instead focuses on crossing another name off the list. While digging through a crooked accountant's laptop, Felicity (guest star Emily Bett Rickards) discovers a transaction that could help Oliver find Walter. To reconfirm the lead, Oliver gambles that Felicity can be counted on in the field for the first time. In a flashback, Malcolm (guest star John Barrowman) reveals to Robert Queen (guest star Jamey Sheridan) and Frank Chen (guest star Chin Han) painful details surrounding his wife's murder, and how that shaped his plans for the Glades. Meanwhile, Tommy (Colin Donnell) stuns Laurel (Katie Cassidy) with the truth. Willa Holland and Susanna Thompson also star. Michael Schultz directed the episode written by Jake Coburn & Lana Cho (#121).

Episode 21 of 23

FYI, for those here who totally missed this or didn't have the time to start it, re-airs of the season start on May 29th. But, if you're reading this thread (the 21st episode), then why the hell weren't you watching in the 1st place?

That was great. Was not expecting so much past story to be shown. Does anyone know if this season will close the story arc of Merlyn?

I wasn't expecting Walter to come back. I was thinking they really killed him off for minute there. The big plan sounds a little comic book super villainy but whatever. Was this the only episode without a island scene?

Not finished watching, but just saw something completely hilarious. During the casino scene where Oliver busts in, there is a part where he throws glass in a guys face, then he gets thrown over a table. If you watch in the background, there is a guy shooting an automatic weapon. While he's firing, a girl runs right in front of the guy shooting and keeps on running.

Interesting that we got non-island flashbacks.

i am starting to get a little turned off to Ollie waging war against the under class minimum wage henchmen. those guards at the stash house where Walter was being kept were dressed in flannels and FUBU. probably low grade criminals and petty crooks from the glades. most also looked decidedly non Caucasian.

Oliver wants my vote for mayor of Coolsville, stop zapping minority gun thugs in the chest with arrows and tossing them off catwalks, and start killing some of the one percent.

liked the attention to detail on Walter's cell, especially the overflowing bucket he craps in.

Ollie's goatee had a disappearing and reappearing act. Check the scenes with the family towards the end (and Merlyn) and then at the end when he and Diggle talk.

Pretty decent episode.

The person in charge of continuity was not doing his or her job.

Oliver does not discriminate. He's an all ethnicity thug-killer.

Ted Kord exists in this universe. Maybe we'll see the Blue Beetle show up and pop Ollie in the chops.

Didn't they mention a non-Superpowered JL member was going to show up in the series? Hmm...

Hmm...was the hallway fight with the thugs a homage to "The Raid"? Not only in the quantity of thugs, but ends with a similar "smash guy's head into circular light and then a few more times against the wall".

Re: Arrow -- "The Undertaking" -- 5/01/13

The only thought I had during the entire hall fight was "lucky there aren't any chicks in this fight or Ollie would be getting his ass kicked". Thinking back, I can't remember him winning a single hand-to-hand with a girl. The best he's managed is a draw. Most of the time he's in process of getting thoroughly whipped when when the gal has to break off and run. But he can effortlessly kill or disable a horde of redshirts without breaking a sweat - LOL.

Caught that as well. Would have worked if she fell down.

Right down to shot of it being hauled in!

I didn't get that until end when he smashed the guys head down the wall. Was more obvious with the pan back down the hall.

So seems like the guy Moria ratted out was actually responsible for downing Queen' s Gambit. Guess she was not aware of that though.

"So glad you're inside me."
