BTW : I have enjoyed the recent tributes to great TV dramas of the past. It was a treat to see both L.A. Law's Michael Kuzak and LOST's Ethan Rom this week after getting a return visit from Leland Palmer last week. Don't ask me where Ted McGinley fits in with this because I have no idea.

Why so much time on Ginsberg? I like his character enough, but from showing him for 1 minute per show to half a show spent on him, it just came out of left field. Why should we care? A scene on Rizzo being pissed at Peggy would have been more appropriate after the Heinz debacle.

Interesting that Robert Kennedy was mentioned at the beginning of the episode. His assassination happened two months after Martin Luther King's. I wonder if this will be depicted too.

I assume Henry's ambitions will trigger Betty to finally lose the weight. It was amusing for a while, but now it's just kind of there. I wanna see thin Betty as a brunette.

Can someone please explain to me why a gal as insanely hot as January Jones is being totally wasted in a quality show by playing a shrew in a fat suit and looking like this:
http://thinkprogress.org/wp-content/...-Men-Betty.gif

Because when she was preggo, instead of writing her out for the season or really limiting her time, they wrote in the fat angle. Unfortunately after the baby was born, they kept the fat stuff in. Her character is (currently) pointless.

Not pointless, she's still there to take the piss on Don and Megan.

Yeah, fat Betty is very odd and distracting. I don't even mind the character as much as most but it seems so weird to not have her start the new season skinny.

I like that they didn't do that. Sometimes losing weight takes a long time.

Especially back then when real exercise didn't appear to be a way to help lose weight. If Betty were in the modern era, she'd not only cut down on her eating - she'd also be jogging, doing aerobics. etc. I don't think we've seen Betty do anything physical to lose weight.

I thought Ginsberg's father's inclusion was weird. When Ginsberg first showed up we were introduced to his father - and I thought this will be an ongoing storyline with the show. But then we didn't see his father again until now. Not sure where they're going with this.

So far this season has been merely good... but a definite step down from previous seasons. The stories are moving along very slowly and offer little impact. This episode was built around MLK's assassination, are we also going to get an episode built around RFK's assassination as well?

I thought the Planet of the Apes scene was great, and the reaction from Bobby and Don at the end, was really good. One of the all time great movie endings.. really great to see it exploited here.

Also the nice moment with the usher, great stuff in the theater.

I liked this ep a lot, think it has found its footing for the season as we follow Don into what is going to be an alcohalic haze... and we should ser the return of skinny betty soon I would think.

The hugs were pretty interesting Peggy with her secretary and Joan with Dawn.

Good solid ep with plenty to ponder.

Only Harry could make Pete seem sympathetic in a scene.

i expect the show is ready to be kicking it up a notch now for the season.

That clip is better than anything I've ever seen from Broadway.

Dave Chappelle has a routine where he says the apes in Planet of the Apes are clearly black people and could not be any more so even if they were smoking Newports. It came out the day before MLKs assassination, but the juxtaposition of the movie with the riots did feel a bit weird. What exactly were they trying to do there?

And Harry is turning into Pete, and Peggy is turning into Don, and Pete and Don continue to look like they're constantly tempted to jump out a window. I've always hated Pete, but I haven't hated Don until now. Megan asks for career help and smooches for a soap opera and that's unforgivable - oh and by the way he barely tolerates his kids - and he married Megan seemingly largely because of how he was around his kids. So did he get married so he can not interact with his kids and could be cheating on someone because that's the only way sex is exciting?

Yeah, I have no idea. It felt awkward as fuck during the MLK assassination ep, though. Especially once Harry screamed "They won't be happy until they've turned this whole city into a garbage dump!"

I think there's one thing we can all agree on: Whoever voiced Paul Newman was awful.

I seriously thought the big reveal of that scene was going to be that the host was not that Paul Newman, but some other guy named Paul Newman.

Yeah I half expected Forrest Gump to interrupt the proceedings and give him the idea for the Newman's Own brand.

So did I. It was strange how completely unlike Paul Newman, he was.

Sounded enough like Paul Newman to me.

I like Ginseberg, it dosen't seem out of character to see him out of the office. I think it was already in the second or third episode he was ever in they had a scene of him at the apartment with his father.

Loving this season so far, just as enjoyable as all the previous for me... with one glaring problem.

In the last two seasons, they made Sally one of the more fascinating characters on the show, and I was looking forward to seeing her take an even bigger role this year, wanting to see how she is responding to things another year older. But she's been completely scaled back to just being the sullen kid with one or two meaningless lines each episode. I wish she was taking a bigger role again.
