NBC Announces a bunch of renewals (Includes Grimm, Parenthood )

Just got off the TV Guide FB Page:

This just in: NBC announces Parenthood, Revolution, Grimm, Chicago Fire and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit have been renewed for the 2013-14 season! Additionally, the dramas have all been given 22-episode orders.

Surprised Revolution got picked up for a 2nd season..its ratings have been getting clobbered.

Even more exciting is all of these shows getting 22 episodes

Why is Revolution surprising? It's won the Monday at 10pm timeslot most of the season.

Very happy that Parenthood is back and most importantly getting a full season.

I was just looking at the drop off in ratings, but then I see that key demo has been strong all year..so essentially nevermind

Happy about Chicago Fire as well. After a so so Pilot, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Good mix of action and character drama.

Hope they renew Parks & Recreation

Surprised Parenthood would get renewed since it never gets good ratings.

Their staple dramas get the go-ahead which is great. SVU has been good this season. I'm a little cautious about Hannibal, though. Not really holding my breath for Community, either.

Same here. I figured we'd be lucky to see a renewal at all, so a full season is a welcome surprise.

In relation to nearly every other drama on NBC, Parenthood gets good ratings. I think they typically too Chicago Fire.

I just realized the only show I watch on NBC is Saturday Night Live.

I'd rather sit through Whitney.

I am mostly interested in what they're doing for Thursday night comedy in the fall. The Office and 30 Rock is gone. Community is probably gone. I wouldn't miss Parks and Recreation if it goes. With another season or two, we'll all be talking about how much of a chore it is to keep watching.

You are fucking nuts. It is what the office was in its heyday.

It would be devastating if Parks and Rec was gone

Parks and Recreation continues to be my favorite network show, and I would miss it very much if it doesn't come back.

P&R is there #1 comedy, next to The Office which isn't coming back.

It's also syndicated on two networks. There is no way it's not coming back.

Is it? I only watched some of the first season and was kind of like "eh". Nothing terrible, but nothing I felt the need to watch week-after-week.

I guess it's in its 5th season now so I've missed a lot. Has it gotten better since the first season?

MUCH.

Every fan acknowledges the first season was bad, but it found its stride when they dumped the dud character (Mark) and brought on Adam Scott & Rob Lowe, found the awesomeness of Ron Swanson, and gave Leslie something besides the pit, the pit and the pit (I swear "pit" was every 4th word in season one)..

Yes it has. Season 1 was by far the worst season and was essentially an Office rip-off. It found its own tone in season 2.

All 4 seasons that are currently on home video are on Netflix Instant if you have it.

Don't forget getting Chris Pratt out of the casts and giving him something (someone?) to do.

Ron Swanson verges on surpassing Jimmy James as my all time supporting scene stealing character in sitcomdom.

P & R better return, but I can't imagine it won't especially considering losing 30 Rock and The Office.

Grimm I thought that was on the chopping block, never could get into it.

Grimm has never been on the bubble. It's been regarded as a "hit" for the numbers it gets on Fridays.

Season 1 of P&R was not that bad and it was just trying to find its footing.

I remember the episode where Leslie had that guy haircut for one episode in season 1.

Re: NBC Announces a bunch of renewals (Includes Grimm, Parenthood )

Is Hannibal in trouble? So far I have really enjoyed it, but I guess since it is a MEGA seasonal arc (like the troubled Revolution) it is having problems gaining any new audience that wasn't there from the start.

Very happy about Parenthood which got SO good this past season but felt too short. Grimm is also good news - it has really stepped up this season with its story arcs too.
