Along with Hannibal, really liking these re-imaginings.

Wow, that was a great episode. The storyline has progressed much faster than I expected. I'm really loving the momentum they've built, but I have to wonder how long they can keep up this pace. Most network series would have taken an entire season to do what this series has done in six episodes.

I agree, I'm enjoying both shows. Before Bates Motel premiered, I read comments on a TV site from people whining about this show and Hannibal and how nothing is original anymore. Both re-imaginings have surprised people and most critics seem to like both shows.

I also wonder if they can keep up the pace and not lose momentum. I kind of like that the Shelby storyline was dragged out.

Damn it all if Freddie Highmore isn't one creepy kid.

Nothing much to add, except I'm still loving this!

Oh, and I almost didn't watch it because I thought it was this, rather than Hannibal, that was skipping an episode due to the Boston events. I was trying to find the missing episode online first, before I watched this one, but realized I had them mixed up. :)

Agreed. My wife and I were talking last week about how he does so many little things that really just add to the whole show. I'm not even sure if he's being told to do them, because they are so natural and slight.

Oh god yes he is. They couldn't have done a better job casting the role of Norman. Loved him in the scene where the cop was briefly holding them at gunpoint. Shelby picked the wrong family to try that mess with.

Can't wait until next week.

Does anyone read Chinese? I will bet anything that the pendant that girl was wearing and so prominently displayed when she was in the shower was an easter egg of sorts. Translate it and you get a clue.

We still don't know her fate, do we?

Great episode last night. And yeah, agree that Highmore shines as Norman.

Intense episode, loved the shootout. It'll be interesting to see where the Dylan/drug dealing plot leads.

Just got caught up tonight. Damn fine season so far. I didn't see the Norman's fathers twist coming. How many episodes are left?

I think this series has proved that Carlton Cuse was behind all the "good" stuff on LOST (PROMETHEUS has already shown Lindelof was behind all the awful stuff!).

Great episode.

Yeah I loved Norma telling Dylan the real story behind Norman's father's death. Already seeing the seeds of Norman's multiple personalities.

Really surprised how fast they moved forward with Zack and the sex slave storyline. Did not expect him to die already.

Likewise. Really pleased it wasn't dragged out unnecessarily. A lesser show would have used the Zack character as a recurring "bad guy" to provide conflict and sexual tension (with Norma).

We just burned through all the episodes (so far) over a couple of evenings, and now we are forced to wait for the next ep.

I had low expectations for this and am really surprised at how much I like it.
Highmore is excellent and does a spot-on take as young Norman.

This has actually replaced The Americans as my favorite new show so far this year.
