This is such a shit show (still watching).

Now that we have that out of the way, I have to say it's particularly frustrating how the show seems bent on hitting as many reset buttons as possible in this back portion of the season. They're splitting up, the brother is dead, etc, etc.

I have to say based on the pacing so far, I'm projecting they turn the power on at the end of the season. That's fine if it's a one season show. Where the fuck does that put them if they're renewed? Have they already been renewed?

There still is the whole US broken into multiple parts to put together again. Power or no power, that's a fight.

Something feels very linear about where everyone is, even within one town things can be really spread out, feels like everything happens within a mile of eachother and they can hope back and forth with ease.

Seriously, can ANYONE on ANY show tie people up correctly? Normally I would say duct tape as well, however since that would be over fifteen years old that is likely out, at least they did hand cuff the legs, use some rope as well. I have seen SO many films and show just in the last few months where everyone gets free. If you have tape, tape, (NON wooden chair) hand cuffs cope, and repeat.

Better then some ideas, it makes sense in the context of the show.

This always felt like a one season show, at least in regards to turning the power back on, I do NOT want that to be drawn out over several seasons, one season is about as far as it can be pushed, they could go with stories on what to do once it is restored.

It's really easy to pick the lock on handcuffs. Not a good way to secure someone in those circumstances.

And shows and movies keep using things that are easy to get out off, even worse when they know the people involved are trained. That guy would have be handcuffed and tired with rope and anything else that could be found. Even put something around their hands so picking or cutting would be almost impossible. They say, only a matter of time before he escapes, not if he is secured correctly.

Nanites! The fucking nanites did it! The reveal was a bit of a disappointment. So how do the medallions disable the local nanite population?

Don't you see? The medallions are alien hearts!!!:p

Are we ever going to find out what's on the flash drives? Maybe the show will be cancelled before then.

It is better then just one device knocking out the power, I have been wondering the entire time why they cannot just turn it back on, this would make sense for that, yet I think almost any reason is going to feel like a disappointment in some way.

I figure the medallions have a program that make the nanites shut down.

Actually now that you put it that way, it's fucking absurd but not that horrible in the scheme of things. That would mean the amplifier is literally really an amplifier. It has to be within the field of the medallion and if it is can re-transmit the "program" that disables them a larger distance. Given that, with enough power you should be able to easily disable them everywhere.

That would I guess make the medallions some perhaps tiny arc reactor type device and tiny computer (to borrow from Iron Man) plus a USB drive that has the program on it.

We do not know yet of the medallions temporary shut down the nanites or if it destroys them. Even if it did destroy them they just swarm in again or replicate new ones. I know that is the idea of the amplifiers, have enough and someone can run an entire city, state etc.. It appears that the tower either does more or has the power to shut them down everywhere.

I am also guessing it would have to be like a chain reaction, as they were never designed to get out of control and cover the world, so who knows if the tower would have enough power to get the job done unless it is a chain reaction from nanite to nanite.

Are they even going to follow a separate storyline with the Mom and the Google Guy? For some reason I got the feeling like it was the end of their storyline.

Miles to Jason (about Neville): "If you go anywhere near him, I will bash your little boy band face in."

Jason to Charlie: "What's a boy band?"

rotfl at Neville jamming to All Night Long on the Ipod before their convoy got blown up. That was awesome.

It feels like that would be an importable part of the story.

Just imports? Why not exports?

I'm guessing it's a Microsoft Word document with the script that explains what The Event is.

I got that vibe too, despite the importance of such a story. Especially since you figure the whole group would go with her to improve her chances of success.

I'm guessing Tubbo will stub his toe along the way and insist that she's better off without him and then he'll eventually hook back up with the main group. At least the toe stubbing will be his cover story. I'm guessing his cannibalistic hunger will get the better of him while they're alone. Mommy is gonna be lunch. :(

That priest might as well have been wearing a Red Shirt because you knew he was good as dead when he was introduced.

As soon as Miles said that, I turned to my gf and said "how the hell would he know what a boy band was?" Just in time for Jason's response.

This show is beyond ridiculous but I'm still enjoying it.

Maybe this show will go a little darker next week when they head south into the 'the Georgia Republic'.

Things will take a turn into Cormac McCarthy territory when Charlie runs into cannibal baby-eaters!

Agreed on the weak nanite explanation. I would have preferred her to have said it happened from first contact with aliens or because of the discovery of fusion or something bigger....

HBO needs to commission an adaptation of S.M. Stirling's Emberverse series of novels.

I didn't mind the nanite explanation, even though it still doesn't explain how 15 year old batteries can suddenly regain their electrical charge or how their fuel stores have remained viable after 15 years.

I feel like this show should cross over with The Walking Dead. Although, as stupid as this show can be, I do like that there are no magic landscaping faries like there must be in TWD.

Is it just me, or did they just beat us over the head with hints that
Spoiler:
Miles is Charlie's father
? Maybe I don't need to spoiler that because it seems pretty obvious.
