Justified - "Outlaw" -- 02/26/2013

Danger mounts as the search for Drew Thompson carries on.

FWIW, if anyone is interested in streaming past seasons of this show, Amazon just locked up an exclusive deal. It's only going to be on there for a while.

I only have one more episode to go before I am caught up to this one. Its been a great change of pace to the one big bad guy a year they have done with the past three seasons.

Now THAT'S the way to begin an episode!

Well there was no shortage of bodies in this one.

I'm a few minutes behind but hot damn Raylan is the man.

ETA: Boyd too. Boyd too.

I loved when Raylan shot the assassin dressed as a deputy, then worriedly said, "I hope I got that right."

Smart Boyd, taking full advantage of the killings. Didn't take him long to put those guy in their place.

Lotsa twists in this one. I just hope Boyd doesn't have too many irons in the fire. (And really sad to see Johnny going against him. I hope he has a last minute change of heart, but as much as this show does, how symmetrical would it be to have both Raylan and Boyd both have no family other than their progeny.)

Glad to see Mike O'Malley again. I hope he plays a larger part in things from here on in. Boy I hope Tim puts down Colt next week. (I laughed when he cracked a smile this week. He's way too cool to take off the show.)

Fixed. Was just coming in to post the same thing. That was really an amazing scene, one of my favorites. The back-and-forth banter between them all was great, as was Raylan stopping the assassin so he could talk to Eva about the ring. Also loved Boyd saying Raylan was still invited to the wedding.

So, are we all in agreement that Drew Thompson is
Spoiler:
Sheriff Shelby, right? Raylan's going to really want to trust his gut on this one.

That is what I was gonna post. I believe it is gonna be him.

I hope not. The hints were poured on a little too thick in this episode. Hope it's a distraction... I expect more from this show.

Yes, gotta be.

No need to put speculation in spoiler tags, but they're definitely hinting that especially with the line about "pretend to be somebody long enough and you'll become them" (paraphrased).

Re: Justified - "Outlaw" -- 02/26/2013

see, i think it's going to come out Shelby is Raylan's biological father and Arlo stole him out of a crib or Francine had an affair. they are laying it on TOO thick that Shelby is Drew.

DaveNinja 02-27-13 11:28 AM

Re: Justified - "Outlaw" -- 02/26/2013

If it does end up that he's Drew, they should have spread the hints out more over the season. Having him tell his story to Emma May and asking about the widow was a little much.
Maybe its a set up and he's trying to make it seem like he's Drew in order to hide the real Drew.

man, this show is so good.

Re: Justified - "Outlaw" -- 02/26/2013

Man the scene between Raylan and Arlo in the prison hospital was tremendous. You kind of knew Arlo wasn't going to give up Drew (and I'm assuming Raylan knew it too) but the "kiss my ass" was just great.

It does seem like they are pointing awfully hard at the sheriff. I'm on the fence as to whether it really is him as usually the storyline is a bit less heavy handed. I would not be surprised or bothered if if wasn't him.

Jimmy James 02-27-13 04:47 PM

Re: Justified - "Outlaw" -- 02/26/2013

I think the sheriff stuff is a clear red herring and it's one of the three Boyd didn't have killed.

For one, Shelby worked for 20 years as a deputy. You can't tell me that he escaped being printed or otherwise background checked for that entire period.

Re: Justified - "Outlaw" -- 02/26/2013

This episode had a Spartacus-like death count.

I have no fucking clue what's going on this season, but I certainly enjoy all the individual scenes and banter that goes on.

Re: Justified - "Outlaw" -- 02/26/2013

Oh, by the way, I now think there is no way Tim is getting killed. He has to kill Colt. I do think eventually they will kill one of the Marshals, but I see that slipping to season 5 or 6 now.

I'm calling that
Spoiler:
Ava gets killed. No Crowder can live a happy, pleasant life. I'm sure of it now that Boyd layed out his plans for the future with her.

I was trying to remember where I'd seen the drug dealer before, then it hit me. It was Blossom's brother on that tv show.

"Jesus, I hope I got that right." "I want you to get help me get a Dairy Queen franchise." rotfl

Is it possible Arlo is Dale, or is there no way that would work within the timeline?

Oooh, good idea. Maybe by Tim during a shoot-out (like S2?) and Boyd declares war on Raylan and Art -- or possibly kills Art
