Episode 2 of 13

 Can't wait for all the comments about how this is missing Dan Harmon's magic touch.

Now this was more like it. This one felt truer to the show and characters than last week's for me, plus it was just a fun episode all-around.

I really can't evaluate this episode because a Halloween episode in February just doesn't work for me. That's not Harmon absence, the new guys, or anybody besides the assholes at NBC who booted the show to spring.

Much better than last week. Did anyone else completely forget about the Gilbert character? Even with the references to his previous episode I barely remember him being on the show.

Agree that this was better than last week. I actually laughed at some stuff this week. Hopefully, it will continue to improve until the finale.

Wow. That was a 180 from last episode. It felt like the Community I know and love. I hope we have more episodes like this one this season.

This season will be all about the lead writers

Watching it now...

Thumbs up to the Beetlejuice homages in the decor and design of Hawthorne manor.

Meh, not bad but nowhere near a home run. Jeff and Britta's bickering was a little too familiar and didn't produce many laughs. Troy had a lot of jokes but they just didn't land as well as they should have. The costumes weren't particularly inspired and the sets for Pierce's house looked really fake and didn't feel like a big spooky mansion at all.

I had some chuckles but it felt like a filler episode by Community standards. I gave the premiere some leeway since it was setting the stage but they really need to knock one out of the park soon so we know the show's still got it.

I expected him to show up this episode, thought that the first shadowy figure was him.

I actually enjoyed last weeks episode more than this one, although this was a pretty good episode as well. I was expecting Gilbert to be involved, so that was not a surprise for me, but having no Chang again was surprising (there was a glimpse of him at the end of last week though).

I too forgot who Gilbert was - but when I saw his face, I remembered the while video game episode.

The 80's theme of the house was great - all the young pictures of Chevy, and the gray and pastel colored walls and vases.

This episode *felt* much more like the show I remember, but I still found it to be pretty mediocre. There weren't any particularly memorable moments and I can't think of any jokes that really stood out (I do need to watch the episode again though). By contrast, I thought the premiere had some pretty funny jokes, but didn't work as a cohesive episode.

I also thought the whole haunted house/scooby-doo thing they were going for seemed a little half-baked. There's so many directions they could have gone with it, but they never seemed to fully commit to the idea. I got the feeling the writers were struggling with how to do it but still maintain believablility. The zombie episode from season 2, in comparison, really stretched believability but was a much more fun and memorable episode.

As an aside, what was the reference behind the graphic of the floor plan with the tokens showing where the characters were? That wasn't ringing any bells for me but I assume it had to be referencing something.

I enjoyed it. Felt like regular Community to me. Nice to see Gilbert again.

I always feel a little weird whenever they have Pierce being nice on the show now, since I know what an ass he's been on the show in real life. :(

Halloween episodes are my favorite for shows like this. I had no idea this was a themed episode, so it was a pleasant surprise. Pretty funny all around. I really liked how they had them moving like Clue pieces on the map of the house.

Thought the premiere was better but I enjoyed this too. Troy had some good lines.

1.1 last night. Series worst. Fucking shit load of people bailed after 1 episode? Shows how loyal Community fans are. Good god.

or people just didnt want to watch a Halloween episode on Valentines day, haha

To be fair, 8:00 pm is early on Valentine's Day and considering a bulk of Community's fanbase is college aged, I wouldn't be surprised if it has a huge Live+3 ratings boost.

Not bad but like the premier it was more clever than it was funny.

Favorite part was the portrait of young Chase riding the tiger.

Liked the first episode better, but I think both episodes have been pretty bad. Not funny and the characters seem off.

With every disparaging remark they make about Pierce you know its all meant to actually be Chevy as well.

Hell even Chase himself knows it. He just doesn't care to fix it. He never has.

I really liked Troy having no idea what that sex room was about, and Shirley's reactions to it. Good stuff. Otherwise, the ep was a little flat for me.
