I don't believe that Leonard avoided HP spoilers for all these years.

Seriously! I just finished season 1.

Other than that, pretty good ep. Liked the Leonard/Sheldon argument, the Sheldon/Amy spinoff. Getting tired of the Leonard/Penny thing. Things are still moving too fast for her? Or Leonard always moves this fast, knowing Penny's reticence?

True, especially since we know they've already watched Harry Potter and 98% of the Sorcerer's Stone at Raj's apartment.

The spoiler stuff was great, although it seemed abrupt for that to put Leonard over the edge. Love that neither Sheldon or Penny couldn't think of a logical reason for it to not happen.

I thought this one was pretty funny overall. Raj being trapped with Mrs. Wolowitz was good stuff . Liked him waking up in Howard's bed wearing his pajamas and the when he asked if she was going to bathe him .

The argument between Sheldon and Leonard was predictable as to how it would come out but overall I still found it funny. I liked how Sheldon and Penny both couldn't come up with the courage to tell Amy and Leonard that they aren't ready to move their relationship that far yet.

Re: The Big Bang Theory -- "The Spoiler Alert Segmentation" -- 2/07/13

Yeah Leonard having HP spoiled for him was far fetched. These guys know everything about everything concerning fantasy. I just don't understand how Leonard would have avoided it. As stated here, I hate HP and I know Dumbledore dies.

However, the episode was funny. Loved how Penny and Sheldon had no reason for the perfect living situations, and I enjoyed Raj being incapable of escaping Howard's house.

Gives you an insight in to why Howard is so painfully attached to his mother.

Maybe that's why the writers picked it, because it wouldn't actually be a spoiler for the viewers.

Whoa, I thought they might actually change the status quo for a second there! Kind of wondering why Penny is so uncomfortable other than because the writers make her so.

Re: The Big Bang Theory -- "The Spoiler Alert Segmentation" -- 2/07/13

I never read/watched anything HP, and the only character I know is Harry. But I guess Leonard being a geek would make him not reading/watching HP unrealistic, nevermind not hearing the spoilers already.

I can buy Penny not wanting Leonard to move in. They broke up once already because Leonard was moving too fast - Penny doesn't want to repeat the same mistakes.

I still don't get why Leonard doesn't have his own apartment.

Sheldon's shown more growth again. In the past he would've stated straight out why he didn't want Amy to move in, not caring for her feelings. Now he's taken her feelings into consideration.

I think this is the first time we've seen any of Howard's mom.

Re: The Big Bang Theory -- "The Spoiler Alert Segmentation" -- 2/07/13

If they had balls, they would spoil the upcoming season of "Game of Thrones."

SHELDON: "I can't wait to see the third season of 'Game of Thrones' where *** ** *** ********, *** *****, *** *** ****** *** *********** ** *** *** *******."

(I won't even put that shit in spoiler tags, because someone would read it and flip out. Those who have read the book can probably figure out what I'm referring to up there. Count the letters in the last two words.)

Re: The Big Bang Theory -- "The Spoiler Alert Segmentation" -- 2/07/13

I agree Penny's rationale was glaringly absent. What's sad is that they could have probably given her better motivation really easily. He lives next door. He's available for any good thing she wants with none of the bad things. 15 seconds of dialogue would have really helped.

What they spoiled to set up the plot device doesn't really bug me. They're such hard core geeks it would be easy to nitpick just about anything chosen. I think the far bigger foul is the idea that Sheldon would go there. While him being a jerk is in character, respecting the spoiler is something overriding in his personality. If anything, I'd expect him to be appalled at that type of behavior.

Sheldon expects the people he knows to treat him a certain way, but he does not extend that courtesy to them. He seems unable to see himself in the position of others. As such, he might be angered if someone dropped a 'spoiler' on him, but not understand someone else's anger if he did the same to them. It's sort of interesting... last week, he seemed to have grown a bit when he discovered that Kripke was a better physicist than he was and that the world doesn't revolve around him... though maybe he was just compensating this week when he seemed back to his old selfish tricks.

I wonder how Sheldon would have done on a "Sally-Anne" test when he was a child.

I understand that aspect of Sheldon's personality, but I'm talking about as a sheer coping mechanism. If you spoil for geeks, they cast you out.

Def Leppard? That is surpising!

And now that I think about, wasn't BumbleDore's death widely spoiled right when the book came out?
