Zero Hour -- Series Premiere -- "Strike" -- 2/14/13 (Now on ABC.com & Hulu)

Synopsis:

Three-Time Emmy Award-Winner Charles S. Dutton Guest Stars as Father Mickle

Anthony Edwards - along with a dynamic ensemble cast -- returns to network series television in the dramatic adventure thriller, "Zero Hour," which will have his character, Hank Galliston, questioning everything and everyone he ever believed in - including himself. "Zero Hour" premieres THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 14 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

In the premiere episode, "Strike," it's a race against time for Hank Galliston (Edwards) after his wife, Laila (Jacinda Barrett), is abducted by the international terrorist "White Vincent" (Michael Nyqvist). As the publisher of a paranormal enthusiast magazine, Modern Skeptic, Hank has spent his career debunking myths and investigating conspiracies. Now, seemingly out of nowhere, he is thrust into the middle of one of the biggest conspiracies in human history, sparked by his wife's discovery of an antique clock at a Brooklyn flea market -- a clock that possesses much more than the power to tell time. With help from FBI Agent Rebecca "Beck" Riley (Carmen Ejogo) and his two young magazine staffers, Rachel (Addison Timlin) and Arron (Scott Michael Foster), they set out on a journey to find Laila, but soon find their mission is much bigger than just saving one woman.

Contained in one of his wife's clocks is a treasure map, and what it leads to could be cataclysmic. It's up to Hank to decipher the symbols and unlock the secrets of the map, while ensuring the answers don't fall into the wrong hands -- hands that belong to a sinister, mysterious man known only as White Vincent. Now Hank, Rachel, Arron and "Beck" must embark on a breathless race against the clock to not only find Hank's wife but save humanity.

Everyone has a personal stake in this life and death mission, from Hank, the everyman whose destiny is more intertwined in this conspiracy than he ever imagined, to Laila, the warm and loving wife who refuses to simply be a pawn in this struggle, to "Beck," the FBI agent with plenty of secrets of her own. White Vincent has interests far more grand than the treasure that lies at the end of the hunt - and a mysterious past connecting him to Hank in ways that go beyond this game of cat and mouse. And while Arron is a sucker for a good conspiracy theory, Rachel relies more on her head and her heart to guide her beliefs. But as this story unravels, knowing what to believe - and more importantly, whom to believe -- becomes more and more difficult.

Whom and what will you believe?

Written and Created by Paul T. Scheuring (Prison Break)

Produced and Directed by Pierre Morel (Taken)

I saw the promos for this last May in the upfronts and It looked awesome. Not sure if I will wait or watch it now.

I was a fan of Prison Break and Scheuring's work on the show. I'm impressed they got Morel to direct the Pilot.

But getting Anthony Edwards as the lead sold me on this show. Really like him as an actor. He deserves to be a lead on a TV show.

After watching the trailer again, it looks like Taken/The Da Vinci Code the series.

Bump

This officially premieres tonight on ABC. It's been on Hulu and ABC.com for the past few weeks.

Anyone checking it out? Did anyone watch it early?

Hope it's good. Especially with the first episode being directed by Pierre Morel.

Haven't watched it yet, but reviews seem largely positive. Sounds like the show is full of adrenaline from what I've read thus far. I plan to check it out.

Still trying to process it.

A lot of shit went down in that hour.

Clocks, Nazis, Evil baby who is a modern day terrorist, 12 prophets are who key to man's survival, and of course Anthony Edwards wife gets Taken.

This could either be a crazy fun 13 weeks or a hot mess. Where's Robert Langdon when you need him?

Thought Edwards was kind of flat in his performance. He was very mellow for a guy whose wife was just kidnapped by a notorious international terrorist.

I wish they would have cast a different young male actor instead of Scott Michael Foster. Keep seeing Cappie from Greek when I look at him. I am cool with Addison Timlin though.

I'll see how I feel after watching the next episode when I get back from vacation.

I thought it kept me interested enough to get me to tune in next week. Suprisingly enough, the part where the two young reporters went to Germany was a lot more interesting than Hank's journey to Canada.

I get the feeling that I'm going to have a suspend a lot of belief when I'm watching this series. I don't really have a problem with that though.

I thought Mikael Nyqvist did well and I wish a bit more screen time. And it's always nice to see Charles Dutton in a guest role.

I enjoy adventure stories like this; I'll watch through the season. Did the guy frozen in the U-boat at the end look exactly like Edwards' character?

I was too excited for this show, I even have a season pass set, but the pilot just didn't work for me. Too cheesy, too flat, the writing was below average. I actually turn it off 5-10 minutes before it ended, I was too tired and falling asleep. So I will try again this weekend.

And yeah, I will watch at least 3 episodes.

It's up on Hulu. I watched it during the preview there and didn't particularly care for it. I had specific reasons but have since forgotten them. I might stick with it for a few more eps. But all these new shows just have a habit of piling up on my DVR until I delete them to make more room for new shows I'll never actually watch.

I thought the last half was pretty decent. Usually shows like this pick up once they get through the initial start up in the pilot which I am hoping for this one. I'm in for the ride.

Damn. You're right. I knew I recognized her from somewhere.

I was also wondering where I've seen the assistant chick before.

Yes, which I presume is why he was hurling outside at the end. So that means there is more to it than just the clock; presumably why his wife ain't dead and why he waited until after she bought the clock from the vendor (which makes no sense otherwise).

That's what I was thinking. We have to assume that the 12 are all dead at this point; someone must still know the secret they had.
