Mad Men Season 6 - April 7th Premiere

The adventures of Mad Men ad man Don Draper will resume on Sunday, April 7, AMC announced this morning.

What’s more, Season 6 will kick off with a two-hour premiere starting at 9/8c, as did the previous run. The acclaimed drama will then return to its 10 pm time slot the following week.

What all we do know about the coming season? Well, in addition to what series creator Matt Weiner shared here (including about Peggy’s future) and here, Don and a certain female are heading to Hawaii the show was casting several attractive 20- and 30-somethings plus a pair of British gentleman in their 50s.

Those looking to catch up on/revisit Mad Men Season 5 can do so via AMC On Demand, which starting Feb. 11 will roll out a new episode each week. Or, AMC is re-airing Season 5 on Sundays at 6 am, starting March 5.

See you Zou Bisou Bi-soon!
So this date has been confirmed.

I hope Weiner finally realizes his place in the pecking order, and that he is no longer the darling of AMC.

Do they already have an end date for the series?

Re: Mad Men Season 6 - April 7th Premiere

Not an end date...but they have said it will go for 7 seasons.

I dont think anyone is a darling at AMC. They seem to treat everyone like shit and not appreciate the things that helped make them what they currently are.

Yup

I saw that they shot an episode in Hawaii for this season. There were some photos of Hamm and Jessica Pare on the Internet from that shoot.

Hawaii must have had a Howard Johnson's.

Yep, I'm curious as to what they'll do with Breaking Bad ending this year and Mad Men with only a year left after season six ends. Sure they still have The Walking Dead but that aside unless The Killing comes back in a big way and makes up for the shit that was most of seasons one and two that'll be about the only quality original series they have that isn't a reality show.

AMC did renew Hell on Wheels for a 3rd season (set to air later this year). Though it's definitely not a ratings darling. They're definitely in need of some new original programming.

:lol::thumbsup:

I just re-watched S5 a few weeks ago. Don's fascination with HoJo is pretty weird.

Too bad they couldn't (wouldn't) pick up Boss.

So is the last season only going to be 7 episodes long or something? Moss keeps repeating in that interview that the show only has 20 episodes left.

Doesn't it say they only have 20 episodes left to film? I took that to mean they had already filmed six at the time the interview was done, which would make sense since the show starts airing in a little over two months.

They already picked up Low Winter Sun, which stars Lennie James and Mark Strong. They ordered 10 episodes which are supposed to air sometime this year.

What does he care? He got what he wanted, and Mad Men is wrapping next year. He can pitch his next show to a network that won't treat everyone like shit.

I hope that Betty and Henry's screen time is kept to a minimum (unless he's dumping her whiny ass of course).

Is Jon Hamm really holding his gut in?

Jessica Pare looks like hell in that last photo. She looks better with the period look on the show.

How was it renewed? The ratings were apparently good enough.
