Lining up around the block for hours and hoping there was a ticket left for the next showing was simpler than turning on your TV, computer, tablet or phone and just watching it?

Anyone else get a Mass Effect Andromeda vibe off these promo shots?

I think it takes place five years after Return of the Jedi, so she would probably be about thirty at the time The Mandalorian takes place. I'm not sure if the final bit in Rebels, where she and Ahsoka Tano go off on a quest to find Ezra Bridger, is given a specific date but it's probably in that time period.

In terms of perspective, again, they look like miniatures.

I read an article stating we'll see the beginning of the First Order as the show evolves.

Wasn't really talking about the delivery mechanism, which of course is easier these days.

I just prefer the older non-CGI stuff in general. Star Wars, 2001, Solyaris, etc. Not that there isn't some great stuff out there today, it just seems like like so much media is "Transformer"-ized, including recent Star Wars stuff like Solo and the new ST-Discovery (IMO). I hope this show doesn't fall in that trap.

There, I've established my "I'm a relic" credentials.

Are they using tilt-shift photography on those stills? Why do they look like that?

After looking up "tilt-shift" on Wikipedia, I can definitively answer "I have no idea."

I had one of the first Micro Four-Thirds cameras around 10 years ago, and it had a mode like that. I think they called it Diorama. Sorry O/T.

Tilt-shift phorography: https://parade.com/632636/russellvan...t-photography/

It might be that photographic technique; no idea why they would do that. It looks bizarre. It's weird that they would release promo images that look like that; the trailer looked fucking gorgeous and nothing like the promo stills.

Tilt-shift would have a blur to it.

They just look weird.

promo stills look too pristine for a gritty western in space.

I mean, its nitpicking, because the show otherwise looks fantastic.

I don't like the way the screenshots look but the trailer looks great so I'm optimistic.

So this guy has a laser pistol, a jet pack, flies from planet to planet about a spaceship that accesses an extradimensional hyperspace, yet lives in a wooden shack.

Like say, some of us, who have $10,000 home theater systems and rent an apartment.
