Re: David Lynch May Have Met With NBC To Discuss Reviving ‘Twin Peaks’
I'm hoping for Netflix or a premium cable channel where Lynch can be Lynch in all his NC-17 glory. I'd love to see a short run series, or extended film, to wrap things up for that "25 years later" that got teased in the original series and FWWM. I really wouldn't want an open-ended series that is allowed to devolve like before. Lynch has to be involved with every minute of this thing... whatever it is.

Bring back Chris Isaak as Chester Desmond and David Bowie as Philip Jeffries and you have a show or movie right there. Throw in Agent Dale Cooper 25 years later with the Man From Another Place and that is really all you need. Cameos by other cast members would just be a bonus.

Writer/Producer of the original series, Harley Peyton, had this to say today:
"You will not be let down again."
Sounds like something wonderful and strange is about to happen, guys.

Also of note: Lynch and Frost tweeted at exactly 11:30AM this morning. Guess what time it was when we first met Dale Cooper?

I can't even believe it. Not sure what to think of this, exactly, but as a couple of others have mentioned, if Lynch is really going to revisit this world again, he needs to be 100% engaged.

interesting...too much smoke for something not Twin Peaks related and new, but it doesn't necessarily mean a new series...HBO or Showtime Twin Peaks would rule

Regarding HBO, with most of their remaining hallmark series coming to an end, I think they need a few new tent pole series and Twin Peaks could be one of them. That said, HBO has had a horrible track record with canceling it's less accessible shows like John from Cincinnati, Deadwood and Carnivale. I would have to think Lynch would be wary of this.

I really hope that this is not a tease and it leads to a return back to the series. And count me in for another vote that this goes to Netflix.

If the rumor about a Showtime series being announced tomorrow being true, wouldn't it be good to run a some kind of teaser before the premiere of one of their biggest shows? The new season of Homeland premieres tonight. I know...I'm probably just getting my hopes up for nothing on this point.

I'm guessing that's the intent. We should know more by mid-week. Like others, I've read rumors that SHOWTIME will be making an announcement Monday or Tuesday. I've also seen a rumor that Lynch is going to direct every single episode this time around.

The only thing better than an announcement of new Twin Peaks would be if that announcement also included info about replacements for all of the defective discs in the BD set.

Twin Peaks fans’ quarter-century wait is over. One of the top cult series of all time is coming back with a new limited series on Showtime from its original creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost. I’ve learned that the nine-episode series will go into production in 2015 for a premiere in 2016 to mark the 25th anniversary of when the series finished its run on ABC. In a fact that will delight Twin Peaks devotees, Lynch and Frost will write and produce all nine episodes, with Lynch set to direct every episode.
