Didn't see a thread for this, so I figured I'd start one.

Tonight's episode of Haven was centered around a series of murders at Haven High School. Obviously with the events of this morning, SyFy has decided to pull this episode and is instead airing the claymation Christmas episode of Eureka.

FOX did the same thing with the Virginia Tech shooting and pulled an episode of Bones. They later reshot some scenes for it and it aired as part of the next season.

Unfortunately for Haven, this was the next to last episode of the season. It would be kind of hard to skip it, so it may end up airing next week, or they'll just save both episodes until after the holidays.

NBC had "Blake Shelton's Not So Family Christmas" scheduled but showed "Michael Bublé: Home For The Holidays" instead.

I saw the programming update from SyFy's twitter page and Haven's Facebook page, but I didn't think there was any point to creating a thread just to say an episode wasn't airing.

My Directv DVR didn't get the update in time and still recorded it at 7pm PT. Hopefully the episode won't be listed as a repeat when it's re-scheduled and my DVR will pick it up.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. They have the Buble special scheduled for this coming friday, so I wonder if they'll air the Shelton one then.

As for Haven, I'm currently watching SmackDown from last night which airs right before it, and they were airing previews for the pulled episode. That was really a last minute decision by SyFy if they couldn't pull those as well.

Hopefully they'll just air this on Friday followed by the season finale. Kinda hard not to show the penultimate episode of a serialized show.

In related news, like last year, I think there will be a Christmas special sometime later this month.

Fyi, it seems to have been rescheduled for Thursday (Dec. 20) at 7pm.

Is there an official announcement on that? Looking at my Charter guide, I see Syfy doing a Haven marathon during the day, with the last episode aired being "Last Goodbyes" at 5PM (CT), followed by something called "Eureka, Season 5" at 6PM, then the movie "The Phantom" starting at 7PM.
Maybe the Eureka thing listing is just a placeholder for now.

I didn't see an official announcement, but it's listed on the TWC guide. It's scheduled to air after "Last Goodbyes". Of course SyFy's listings has Eureka airing, so I guess we'll see.

A perfect way to kill any momentum a serialized show like Haven might have had by delaying it for over a month. Practically no one watches SyFy anyway, who was going to complain about airing the episode? Heck, the show needs all the publicity it can get on a network with zero ratings.

Getting props for their "sympathy" is more important to them than doing business. A classic example of the principal-agent problem.

It already got renewed for Season 4.

They'll hype it up with "the episodes too controversial to show until now" or something like that.

Bump. Finally airing this Thursday, but check your DVRs. Mine only had the finale listed as new, and had the pulled episode listed as a repeat.

My Dish Hopper recognized it as a new ep, but since I hadn't deleted the December recording (on Dish the schedule was never updated to reflect the fact that the ep was pulled), it showed the new broadcast as skipped due to "already exists in DVR".
