Deb definitely spiked the water. If it was 40% drug, it would leave a horrendous medicine taste that almost nobody would be able to choke down, much less most of the bottle.

Deb's a real bitch for doing this.

To be fair, from her point of view Dexter is dating an uncaught murderer whose victims include a husband and a guy who knew her secret (whom Deb also dated).

I loved the little preview for next week with:

Spoiler:
Doakes saying "Surprise Mother Fucka!"

I miss him. He was such a good foil to Dexter.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as everyone that Deb was desperate enough to spike her own drink to frame Hannah.

I actually kind of felt bad when Dexter betrayed her.

 I also could not believe how really sloppy Dexter was falling into La Guerta's trap. Plus, letting Estrada go, who can easily impicate him to her. Hopefully they will address this more next Sunday.

It's amazing how really annoying La Guerta was and now her storyline heading into the last episode has probably been the best this season.

rotfl at Quinn's whore leaving him and going to Vegas. What a dope.

You're right about LaGuerta, DJariya. I've felt she's been the worst part of the show for years with the most boring storylines. This year she's delivered as a possible foil for Dexter. Interesting storyline and she's been good with it.

Plus Deb's moral compass is spinning like a top these days.

Did anyone else have a problem with the cops losing Estrada long enough for Dexter to escape? They heard gunshots and they wait for LaGuerta to arrive at the scene? Also, if they were following him, wouldn't they have seen Dexter talking to Estrada in broad daylight earlier in the day?

This was apparently the most watched episode of Dexter ever. 2.6M viewers and 3.08 with the re-air.

Yes, I had a problem with that too. But I guess that is par for the course for the writing for the series, especially the recent seasons. Only enjoyed the LaGuerta plotline this week. I had problems with the entire Deb auto accident because I think neither scenario is plausible. Still an improvement over last week's snoozer. They really should have used Matthews earlier in the season as I've been enjoying his character. Sleazy as hell but still a lot more interesting than half the regulars on Dexter.

Bingo! This show always shows something like that, unless there's a twist and the event didn't actually happen as initially described. In the finale, I expect some sort of explanation with a possible flashback on how Deb staged her accident to get Dexter to turn on Hannah.

Why the hell would Dexter leave the chainsaw running? Just sloppy writing.

Regarding Deb's moral compass: she is genuinely worried that Sarah is going to kill Dexter.

He probably did to draw the cops to that storage container so he could slip away while their attention was diverted to it. If they heard the chainsaw running, they would all go there believing he was in there, which then gave him the cover he needed to get away from them.

It was actually pretty quick thinking on his part.

I think Dexter dumping his "Code" in the previous episode was to set up the ability for him to kill LaGuerta in the finale.

I'm thinking that Deb might end up being the one to do the deed. I would also think that if LaGuerta is killed or goes missing, Dexter would be the prime suspect which would set-up the finale season.

Estrada thinks LaGuerta and Dexter are working together to off him, so maybe Estrada takes her down. Much cleaner that way.

My theory is that Hannah is going to volunteer to take the blame for emulating the BHB to save Dexter's butt.

The chainsaw is no the problem. The problem is all the plastic ala BHB. That was the confirmation Laguerta was looking for.

I figure that Laguerta will be framed by Dexter or Deb.

Or she'll be killed.

Louis will take the fall as BHB.

Or at least it's a possibility.

How does LaGuerta know that the BHB uses plastic?

This is great writing - so many different ways they could go for the finale. CAN'T WAIT!!! The only thing that's going to suck is that they're going to leave us with a huge cliffhanger. I'm 99% certain of this.

I was also thinking along those lines for a while, but they've pretty much dropped Louis as a plot point since he was killed by Isaak.

I also seem to recall one of the people involved in production said that they got rid of Louis because they didn't have any storylines for him after the build-up he got last season.

Doesn't necessarily mean that they can't reference him again, though. They're still on Doakes five years after he died.
