Yeah, that Angela/HRG/Oscar thing became way too dark and got out of hand; I didn't really see a way they could resolve it well after the affair started. It did humanize Dwight, though.

It's almost too blatant how much they are trying to get us to like Peter over Andy, which is odd, because Andy went way overboard to win her over last season, and all that was just wasted.

I did like Phyllis and Stanley agreeing to cover for Jim at the end, though... but it made them really hate them throughout that whole lunch.

I don't think it's the worst show in the world or anything, and I do think there are some really great comedic moments, it's just the storylines I find lacking.

Andy as Roy
Erin as Pam
Peter as Jim

Think about it as Andy becomes more incosiderate he is developing Roy like characteristics. Leaving for the boat trip without taking her, being an ass to co-workers. He's not as big a dick as Roy was but it seems similar. Peter is leading the office in fun stuff like the Olympics mentioned above. He and Erin spend time at her desk a lot, and she expressed disappointment in Andy for inconsiderate actions.

These writers would NEVER rehash story lines. Take it back.

It's clearly a rehash and it's the second time they rehashed the Pam/Jim thing with Erin and Andy.

The difference is that we have good memories of Andy and we may think he's an idiot and an ass to his coworkers, but he doesn't really come off as someone that doesn't care about Erin. He worked so hard to get her back, the audience isn't just going to forget that.

And we barely know Peter. They'll have a lot of work to do to get him on Jim's level by the end of the series.

Yeah and Peter still comes across as kind of a dick and yes man, which is not exactly endearing. Less of a dick now than before, but he's also associated with the Clark Duke character who remains creepy.

They're trying really hard to get people on Peter's side, though. He brought Andy to that creepy "audition" to stop it. He's never made any moves on Erin though he clearly likes her, and it's all pretty much because of Andy's foolishness that she's basically falling into his arms. My issue is that he just won her back.

In contrast, Jim was clearly going after an engaged woman, though they made it clear he was a better match for her than her fiance... I still think that's creepier.

Possibly the best episode of the season.

Phyllis and Stanley have been pretty much non-existant all season long.

I have a theory on this show. I'm not so sure it's not as funny any more it's just we are bored with the characters. The relationship has gotten stale. My favorite episode of all time is Diversity Day which was the 2nd episode of the first season. I watched this episode again the other day and I just didn't laugh like I always have. I think someone who has never watched this show, if they happened to catch an episode of this season they'd probably enjoy it more than those of us who have seen every episode. This season, I enjoy the 2 new kids as much as anyone else on the show. Everyone else it's just a tired act. I'm so sure the writing and style of comedy has changed a whole lot over the years.

I agree. I thought the dwight/angela ignorant cracks about the gay relationship were hysterical. Dwight lying in wait for Angela in the Supply room and then doing calisthenics had me howling. Also, the outro scene with Toby/Dwight/Angela was hysterical. I would love to see outtakes of that scene which I'm sure had to have many takes due to cracking up actors.

Agree on this point. The whole "Colored" greens bit gets me every time. It was perfect idiot Michael Scott.
